The bake sale was going great! Everyone was making good money for their causes, and people were enjoying their sweets, there soon came a band, and when they started playing music, everyone joined together to boogie down. Clarabelle and Daisy were dancing to the beat, even Minnie felt her hips sway in rhythm and they all wanted to go out on the dance floor but someone needed to stay behind. Minnie volunteered. " You sure, Minn? " Asked Daisy. " You two go ahead, I'll catch the next set! " She smiled and then, the two were off. She made a few more sales while the two were gone and was enjoying herself when she suddenly felt that something was missing. She looked around. No, there were still treats...money was in the money jar....her bow was on her head...the girls were dancing...Funny was right besides...wait a second. Funny wasn't right beside her. Where's Funny?! She scanned the area but saw no sight of him which began to worry her. Funny never left without telling someone that he had gone. Where could he have been? She kept scanning and thinking of every possible place until she noticed that Daisy and Clarabelle were coming back. " GIRLS! " She yelled out, " Girls, have you seen Funny? I just realized that he's not here! "

" Oh, he told me that he was going to walk around the bake sale! ...he hasn't come back yet? " Said Daisy. " Hey, there's some good stuff around here! Maybe he's on the dance floor? " Suggested Clarabelle. Both girls shook their heads. " That's a big crowd. He wouldn't be there. " Minnie pointed out. " And he would have danced with us if he was there. " Added Daisy. " Then I'm stumped. " Sighed Clarabelle. Minnie was too but that wasn't going to stop her. She told the girls that she was going to look around and then made her way towards the festivities. She searched high and low but had no such luck finding him. She considered doing a knock-knock joke but then ruled against that since, if he teleported, that was a secret that would be blown! ...but what if she did it while she was far away from everyone? " It's worth a shot! " She thought while she began to walk away from the sale and towards the playground which was a long walk from everything. When she got there, she made her way to the jungle gym and went under it to keep her cover. " Knock knock, Funny! " She called out. There wasn't an answer. So she tried again. " Knock knock, Funny! " Soon enough, she heard that familiar bubbling sound, and then, sat in front of her, was a very frustrated-looking Funny Funhouse who was alternating from looking downwards to looking at her. Minnie looked a bit surprised before smiling softly and adjusting the way she was going to talk with him.

She knew that if Funny wasn't trying to make eye contact, he wasn't going to be talking much so her hands got to work. " Knock knock, Funny! " She signed to him. He kept his eyes on her hands but looked up every so often.

" Who's there? "

" Where were? "

" Where were who? "

" Where were you? I was so worried when I got back! "

Funny looked a bit guilty. He didn't mean to worry her but he was sure Daisy would have said something...but then again, he should have come back instead of wandering off. " I'm sorry, Minnie " He signed, " I got distracted while I was cooling off. " Minnie raised her brows. " What's the matter? " She asked curiously. Funny started to sign but then hesitated because he didn't know how he was going to say this without sounding mean. Minnie inched just a bit closer to him and gestured that he was free to talk. " You're safe with me. You can tell me whatever it is that's bothering you. " She said, taking a deep breath and then pointing at him so he would copy. He took a deep breath and then nodded. " Daisy...is treating me weirdly. She won't let me help pick up things or run to get her apron. Its like she thinks I can't do a bit of hard work...and that makes me feel bad. " He explained, feeling that awful tightness in his throat. It seemed silly to cry over something like this, despite it being an actual good reason, so he ignored the feeling and started playing with his fingers. " I can see why that would make you feel that way and I'm sorry that I wasn't paying attention. " She said which made Funny look up at her in alarm.

" You don't need to apologize! This isn't your fault! " He signed with a frown. Minnie shook her head. " I should have been paying attention to you more. I knew something was wrong when you didn't run to the car with me, even if you told me you were fine. " She explained while sighing. She then looked back to the Bake Sale and then to Funny. Even if he wasn't looking at her, she could see the hesitation in his expression. " You can take all the time you need to calm down and then, we'll go back to talk to Daisy! Is that okay? " She asked. Funny thought for a while before nodding which made Minnie smile brightly. " Can you...stay with me? " He asked her timidly. He enjoyed her company and really wanted to talk with someone to get his mind off of everything. She nodded and made herself a bit more comfortable. Of course she'd stay with him, he would have done the same for her.
