"You're going to Max's party tomorrow, right?" Justin asks me.

I grab another oreo, shove it into my mouth, and answer him. "Of course. You'll be there obviously."

Right now, Justin and I are sitting in my basement, on my couch, watching a movie together. I've got my legs lying on top of his. He's practically my brother and I can't do anything without him, but we aren't in love, even though everybody thinks we are.

"Yes, I will," He smiles and rub his hands down my legs.

"Watch the movie," I kick him playfully.

"Yes ma'm."

I clench my jaw. I absolutely hate it when people call me 'ma'm.' I'm 19, not 80.

"I'll pretend like I didn't hear that," I retort, resulting in a laugh from Justin.

"Just ignore me," He tells me, planting a light kiss on my temple. These are the kind of gestures that everyone around us misinterprets as us being in love, but too scared to admit it. I can't say I've never felt attracted to him, or considered the possibility of an us, but I don't think it'll really ever happen. And the relationship we have now is perfectly fine for me.

"Wait," Justin says suddenly, as if a thought has just come into his mind. "Is Aerin going to be there?"

"Where?" I question. "At Max's tomorrow?"

"Yeah."

"I'm not sure. I guess he might be."

"Damn it," Justin swears under his breath.

"What?" I sit up, confused by his anger. "I thought you liked him. Isn't he the one Ryan introduced you to?"

"Yeah, I thought I liked him, too, but he didn't turn out to be the kind of guy I thought he was."

"Ugh," I sigh. "I hate disappointment."

"Same here. Anyway, if you see him at the party tomorrow, just...steer clear for me, alright?"

"Okay. I don't know how I come into this, but okay."

"You don't," Justin replies quickly.

"Okay..."

"Just ignore him. You won't be missing much."

"Whatever you say."

The next night, I climb into the passenger seat of Justin's car at exactly eight o'clock. He is very prompt.

We drive to Max's house, which is a longer drive than I thought it would be, and arrive at the party at quarter to nine. I enter on Justin's arm, which, as usual, comes along with stares and whispers and presumptions that we are "finally together." We ignore, also as usual.

I steer clear of Aerin as Justin instructed me to throughout the night, but I couldn't help but notice the anger in his eyes when Justin and I first walked into the party. Hm. I wonder what really happened between him and Justin.

My thoughts are interrupted as Justin grabs my hand, telling me we have been summoned to the back room of Max's house.

Being the young, immature, and stupid teenagers we are, this back room has been the meeting place of our close group of friends during these crazy parties, and, of course, have been the location of our traditional spin the bottle game. Oddly enough, Aerin walks in shortly behind Justin and I. I can feel Justin tense beside me, and I wonder who asked Aerin to come back here to join us.

"Alright," Max clears his throat. "You know the drill. And Aerin is joining us this time around, not that any girls should have a problem with another pair of lips to kiss."

The game gets started and kisses start happening, and I can't help but notice how Justin's jaw clenches everytime he even sees Aerin. I'm going to need to ask him about that later.

On Justin's third turn, the bottle lands in front of me. Now, this has happened before, so, yes, I have kissed him before. But it's never changed anything between us. However, this time, when Justin sees the result of his spin, I can't help but notice the slight glint in his eyes as he turns to face me. His hand reaches for my cheek and as he begins to lean in, someone speaks up. Aerin.

"No."

Justin sighs and pulls away, shaking his head. "You have got to be over this by now. Come on."

"No. First of all, it wasn't that long ago, and second, you can't really be talking."

"Okay," I interrupt. "You two are going to need to explain."

"I've always had a thing for you," Aerin tells me. "Ever since Ryan first introduced me. Justin saw through me, and told me to stay away."

I turn to Justin. "You did?"

He looks at his hands in his lap as they fidget.

"Yeah, he did, and that's why I don't want to sit here and watch him kiss you."

Justin clears his throat, and has a look about him as if what he is about to say is something that he is pained to admit. "Listen man, it's what I told you before," he turns to me and his hand returns to my cheek. "She's mine."
