This is Loretta Levine live from the scene at the Galaxy Cinema here in Hyattsville where witnesses report there has been a tragic beating of a group of teenagers by another group of teenagers. We're here with a young woman who says she saw the terrible event firsthand. Miss , can you describe exactly what you saw ?
Young Black girl with cornrows with a couple of equally young friends huddled behind her talking excitedly: Yeah. It was wild as all hell , man. There was these two White boys. One in a wheelchair. Ok ? Right in front of the theater where we were all going to see Ricky Joe and Rebel. They were kissing which was fire and all but then some damn incels came over and started beating on them both. Like the kid who could walk, he tried to fight back and defend the other one but there was too many. And they knocked the poor kid out his chair. That was messed up. Man. They called them names and everything. We were calling 911 and then two other guys came running over to help. A Black guy and a White one. The Black guy got in some good hits but he was getting his butt kicked too. Then the other White boy , he went all martial arts on them. Like Karate or judo or something. It was just like I said. Wild. Hope the kids are ok.
Yes. We definitely do hope that the boys are ok and their rescuers. Did you happen to get a description of the attackers ?
The young girl: Yeah. We did. Young. Like maybe sixteen, seventeen. Six of them. Four White. Two Black.
One of her friends, another young girl , this one White: Might have been the Hyattsville Kings. The HK. Cause they had on purple jackets and bandanas. They hate gay people. But you ain't gonna get me to lying.
( Then the group of friends took off running. )
The police have said that the two victims and their rescuers have been transported to St. Paul's Hospital Center for immediate treatment for any and all injuries. We will keep you posted on any more developments in this tragic gang related gay bashing. Back to you, Sue, in the studio.
