Months of relentless work had worn you down. After an overwhelming burnout, you and your best friends decided it was time for a change of scenery. You packed your bags and headed to a cozy cabin in the woods for a much-needed vacation.
The first three days were blissfully unproductive, spent in a state of hibernation. You all woke around noon, lazily drifting from sleep to lounging on the couch, forming a chaotic puppy pile while binge-watching your favorite shows.
Now, you felt recharged and ready to make the most of your time together. One morning, filled with excitement, you woke early to bake and cook. You tied your hair into a messy bun, glancing over your recipes with a smile, when you felt a familiar warmth wrapping around your waist.
"Why are you up so early?" Taehyun murmured, his sleepy voice sending a flutter through you as his chin rested on your shoulder.
"It's not that early—it's 11 AM! Plus, I really want to bake and cook today," you replied, your heart racing a bit under his touch.
He nodded, leaving a soft kiss on your cheek that sent warmth flooding through you. "Okay, fine. I'm going to shower. Kai, Soobin, and Yeonjun are also on their way down."
With that, he reluctantly unwrapped his arms and walked away, leaving you with a lingering sense of comfort. Just then, another pair of arms enveloped you tightly from behind.
"Morning!" Kai and Soobin exclaimed in unison, both planting kisses on your cheeks. Yeonjun followed squeezing you the tightest.
"Good morning! Did you sleep well?" you turned to face them, feeling a wave of affection for your friends. Looking over at the stairs Beomgyu trudges in running straight into your arms like a big puppy that doesn't know his size.
"Like a rock," Soobin replied, yawning and stretching. "What's for breakfast?"
"I thought I'd bake some pastries and maybe whip up a hearty brunch," you said, glancing at the ingredients laid out on the counter over Beomgyus shoulders as he held you tightly for morning cuddles. Patting his back so he can go sit down you wash your hands to get ready to prepare breakfast.
As you began to measure flour and crack eggs, the kitchen filled with laughter and banter. The three of you worked together, a perfect rhythm forming as you shared stories and reminisced about the crazy times you had back in the city.
A little while later, Taehyun emerged from the shower, shirtless, hair still damp, looking refreshed and ready to join in. The scent of his shampoo mixed with the aroma of baking pastries made your heart skip.
"Need a hand?" he asked, a playful glint in his eyes and his deep dimples on display as he joined you at the counter.
"Sure! You can help with the toppings," you suggested, handing him a bowl of fresh fruits.
As the morning progressed, you all enjoyed the fruits of your labor. Sitting around the table, filled with laughter and delicious food, it felt like you were in a dream.
After breakfast, you decided to take a walk around the nearby lake, the sun shining bright and the air crisp. You and Taehyun found yourselves a little ahead of Kai and Soobin, walking side by side.
"Thanks for helping out earlier," you said, glancing at him. "You always know how to lighten the mood."
He smiled, and there was a spark in his eyes that made your heart race. "I enjoy spending time with you, you know that."
As you strolled, a comfortable silence settled between you, the kind that felt charged with unspoken words. You stopped to admire the view, the lake shimmering under the sun, but you couldn't shake the feeling that something was shifting between you and Taehyun.
"(Y/n), can I ask you something?" he said, his voice suddenly serious.
"Of course," you replied, turning to face him.
"Do you ever think about... us?" He hesitated, searching your eyes for an answer.
You felt your heart race. "I do," you admitted, your voice barely above a whisper. "I've been thinking about it a lot lately."
Taehyun stepped closer, his gaze intense. "I really like you, (Y/n). More than just as a friend."
The confession hung in the air, and you felt your cheeks warm. "I like you too, Taehyun. I have for a while."
In that moment, the world around you faded. You reached out, taking his hand, and he pulled you closer. Your heart raced as he leaned in, his eyes flickering between yours.
Then, with a gentle touch, he closed the distance, pressing his lips to yours in a soft, tentative kiss. It was everything you had imagined—sweet, tender, and filled with promise. As you melted into the kiss, it felt as if the rest of the world had disappeared, leaving just the two of you, wrapped in the warmth of newfound affection.
When you finally pulled away, both of you were breathless, smiles plastered across your faces. Taehyun pressed his Forehead against yours leaning in to playfully rub the tip of his nose against yours.
"Guess this vacation just got a lot better," Taehyun said, grinning.
"Definitely," you replied, feeling shy and the blush spread across your cheeks. You interlaced your fingers with his, and together you walked back to your friends.
