Aera's eyes shimmered with tears as she finished speaking, her voice trailing off into silence. Across from her, Jungkook’s hands were clenched so tightly his knuckles were white, his jaw locked in fury and pain. A storm was raging inside him, emotions crashing into each other—grief, disbelief, but more than anything, an anger that burned through him like fire.

"How could you?" he shouted, springing to his feet, his voice filled with a raw, trembling intensity. "Taehyung… Taehyung has no idea that his parents are alive!" The words tore out of him, laced with bitterness.

Just yesterday, Taehyung had shared his deepest wish—the longing to have a family, a family he thought he’d lost forever. No one understood better than Jungkook how much Taehyung had craved that love. Twenty years of longing for love that Taehyung knew he would never have. And all this time, Aera had known.

Aera flinched at his words, her hands clasped together, pleading, as tears streamed down her face. "I’m sorry, Jungkook," she whispered, her voice breaking. "I was afraid… afraid they’d come back and kill him. I thought keeping it from him would keep him safe."

Jungkook shook his head, disbelief and anger swirling inside him. He took a step back, and then, unable to bear the suffocating air of the room, he turned and bolted for the door. Outside, he inhaled deeply, but even the open air seemed heavy. The wind whipped around him, fierce and wild, promising a downpour that would wash the world clean.

He stumbled into his car, his hands shaking as he gripped his phone, desperate. His fingers trembled as he found Taehyung’s contact, and he pressed the call button, needing to hear Taehyung ’s voice, needing something real to cling to.

"Taehyung," he whispered the moment the call connected, his voice barely holding together.

“Jungkook, wait a minute! Let’s do a video call,” Taehyung replied, his tone light, unaware of the storm raging in Jungkook's heart. The line went dead for a moment, and Jungkook stared at the screen, wiping the wetness from his cheeks, trying to steady himself.

Soon, the video call flashed on his screen. Jungkook took a deep breath and answered, trying to hide the tears that still glistened in his eyes.

"Jungkook!" Taehyung greeted with a bright smile, his eyes lighting up on the screen. He adjusted the phone, zooming out and propping it on the table so that everyone could see.

“Taehyung…” Jungkook’s voice barely escaped him as he noticed Namjoon sitting beside Taehyung, laptop balanced on his knees. He remembered now—they had planned to go shopping today.
