His True Kingdom

Chapter Twenty Three - Betrayal:

You grunted and got up on your feet, your left ankle was twisted and it hurt terribly. You gave all your weight on your right and looked around in the empty space.

"Loki... what's going on?" you said with difficulty as you stared at Loki's green cape, he wasn't facing you and he was unresponsive to your question.

"And she has finally returned" an unfamiliar voice echoed and you looked around to see where it was coming from. It was the deepest and most inhuman voice you ever heard. You gulped and crossed your arms as it was freezing around you.

A figure walked out from behind a rock and the strange surroundings became more smoky and misty. You started to spot red glowing eyes in the smoke slowly approaching you. You automatically walked closer to Loki in awe when you spotted a red man... no, it was a monster or a giant of some sort. He seemed like he was made out of unbreakable bricks, his skin tone oddly matched your dress color and you took a couple steps back behind Loki and watched him over his shoulders with fear. The figures in the shadows made you feel like you were in the grove of death. You could feel your hands sweating—you terribly wanted not to be here.

"Come forward, Laufeyson" the red monster ordered as he smiled widely. Loki left his position and headed towards him. You felt unprotected and started seeing the ghastly figures around you more clearly.

"Show us the scepter" the red monster said as his blue glowing eyes sparkled with greed.

Loki extended his hands forward like he was waiting for something to drop on them. His cold glare was on his hands and faint magical lights started taking shape in his hand. A golden handled spear appeared in his hands, you immediately spotted the blue glowing object at its end accompanied by a sharp edged knife molded with it. Just a little while ago you felt so wasted and drained of energy, but as the scepter spawned in Loki's hands you felt revitalized. An odd feeling took over you, you felt solid, unbreakable and like you could run for two hours and not be tired.

"Come here, ____(y/n)" Loki said, his voice felt so empty and distant. You walked towards him and the red monster. Your hands started to feel a sudden rush of a burning sensation. You wrapped them around your arms and stood next to him. He skillfully kept his gaze on the scepter.

"Touch"

You stared at Loki and couldn't believe what was happening, you did not want to touch the scepter but as your eyes met the red monster, you knew you just had no choice. You let out your hands to the scepter and as your finger tips came in contact with the golden surface, the stone at the end started to glow intensely and rhythmically. Loki tightly closed his eyes and sighed, he seemed disturbed and puzzled. The burning sensation continued and your strength accumulated, you felt like you wanted to kill every single red eyed demon around you. But as the strength fueled you, you started to feel it was too much to handle. The blue glow of the scepter was going under your skin—drawing shapes that reminded you of a crossword puzzle. The sensation was too much now, you were burning! Your hands were like they were on fire! You quickly let go of the scepter and fell back, you were breathing heavily on the ground. You saw your hands which were now decorated with blue glowing lines that were turning your skin to an ice blue color. You gasped and yelped, looked into the red monster's eyes in terror.

"Who would have thought we would find you on... 'Earth'?" the red monster said and took a couple steps closer to you.

"Who the hell are y-you?" you said as you were shaking, desperately trying to push yourself back on the ground.

"I am Thanos. I am here with all the faithful soldiers of the nine realms. I have an offer to make you" he said with a wide grin as his eyes searched over the crowd of demons. You stared at him in complete shock; Loki was standing behind him with his eyes running away from yours.
