Constant chatters and the tingles of metal from outside your door tickled your ears enough to bring you back to consciousness after a serene night of sleep knowing Loki was in the same room as you. After chatting with him so long, he insisted that you'd get some rest though he refused to sleep saying he wasn't tired. You knew he was lying about it yet didn't push him for anything considering that he perhaps needed time to think on his own. The last glimpse of him was when he calmly sat by the window once more as you slid your body under the silky sheets, his tired eyes landed on you with a faint smile as you drifted into sleep—he didn't take his off of you until you were deeply taken by the land of dreams.
As you opened your eyes, you naturally expected that he'd be in the same spot however you let out a soft gasp to see him right next to you. You pulled back your head and blinked awkwardly as sleep was still over you—you gulped and frowned to see him lying next to you without a sound, his beautiful eyes were closed. You regarded all of his details while scooting even closer to him, feeling his half naked body against yours, you shivered because of his chilly skin. Your eyes lingered over his white skin, his beat arms and chest; his long black hair embracing his shoulders, his baby face was just perfect. You leaned over him to push a strand of his hair away from his face but Loki's eyes popped up wide feeling your hand on it. He violently grabbed your hand in the air as he breathed frantically; you swallowed back a sharp scream and only managed to let out some sort of a whimper. He realized you were really "you" quite quickly, much faster than you would do right after waking up from sleep and he dropped his hand instantly with a sigh.
"I'm sorry" he said, you tried almost too hard to put a smile on your face with the shock of his sudden move yet you couldn't blame him for being so alert all the time—he didn't have anyone to trust but you.
"It's not a big deal... I'm more startled that you agreed to come in the bed" you told him with your voice becoming quieter with each word with shyness coating your cheeks. He kept his silence as you could feel that his muscles were becoming relaxed under you, you stared at him with a questioning face and asked for permission without talking. He simply granted it with his continued silence and half open eyes imprisoning yours. You laid down your head on his chest and felt the icy coldness spreading across your ear to your face; you moved your right hand timidly over his chest and rested there while listening to his calmed heartbeats. Your eyes traced the slight curves of his thighs and knees under his leather pants, finally landing on his bare feet relaxed on the bed.
"If we could get out of this situation alive, what would you do?" you muttered calmly, adjusting your head and closing your eyes with anticipation of him constructing an impossible dream for you with his answer. Loki inhaled through his nose deeply then you felt his right hand over your shoulder, a small half smile appeared on your face that he wanted to touch you.
"I'd take you home and go to the shores again... to eat frozen sweets" he dreamily murmured, your eyes filled with tears as he rubbed his thumb gently on your shoulder. You felt that you shouldn't be torturing yourself by asking something like this. But you just had the urge to know what could have been before you died. It made you feel good while killing you at the same time, it was a curse. You sighed out and took back your tears so you could bring you head up. You rested your chin on his chest and stared at his indifferent face in awe, he always looked stunning to you no matter what, you kept your silence and looked to the side because you couldn't continue talking about this considering it would never happen.
"You know... you're not that alone. When I first arrived in Asgard and met queen Frigga, you were the first person she asked about. She's been so worried about you Loki..." you told him as your head moved awkwardly with each word you said since your chin was fixed on top of him, you finally managed to read some emotions on his calm and pale face, you saw that his eyebrows slightly curled up and worry started to show.
"You've met her? I haven't seen her more than once ever since my arrival in Asgard. Odin's been keeping her away from me for her 'protection'" Loki sarcastically emphasized the last word with a snarl as his eyes intensified with excess hate springing out of him that made your heart uneasy, his eyes narrowing with a smirk.
"She's the only one who has no need to fear me now and you, most certainly..." he added as his thin lips locked together to erase his expression, you were sure that the monster he'd nurtured for a long time was still inside of him. Your face hardened without your intention.
"You promised that..."
"I'm aware of what I said yet you must realize the truth that I will not hold back if anyone tries to harm you. I can't ignore the past so easily and hug my little brother" Loki interrupted your sentence with his eyes widening with more sarcasm; you frowned while pushing yourself up a little and looked away. He brought his left hand to your chin and turned your face back around so you'd look into his emerald orbs again.
"We must go to Asgard at once and I must train you further in your magic. I know what's to unfold and we are to design a plot against Thanos." Loki's eyes scanned your face, finally landing on your lips "you must learn to control Skadi, I saw you losing your control completely and that is no ordinary occurrence" he slowly pulled you towards himself, frowning at your silent figure—interpreting it in the way he understands.
"If you think I've come back from the shadows merely to lose my nerve against my enemies, you're wrong. I'm not foolish enough to do what you doubt that I will" he tilted his head with annoyance; his coldness didn't bother you so much.
"I'll be with you along the way until the end, no matter what" you told him with seriousness, putting one hand on his holding your chin. He tilted his head forward and got closer to you—staring into your eyes deeper than ever before, coming closer to your face inch by inch with a slight smirk.
"I know I will be a... good boy" he whispered, you chuckled with the way he sounded so playful, he chuckled with you but stopped abruptly, his eyes fixed on the door.
"He's here..." he snarled, you took a hold of both of his hands and gave him a worried look.
"Let me handle this, please..." you pleaded with a sad expression before Loki gave you a muffled chortle.
"By all means, princess of Asgard" his words were edgy but you managed to ignore them. You got off the bed, grabbed Thor's cape lying on the ground and saw Loki grabbing his armor.
"You'll be good? Yes, you'll be good" you asked him at first, then you ended up whispering the answer to yourself as you headed to the door, he only smirked your way as he put on his glorious outfit and joined you to walk outside to meet the God of thunder.
