After dinner, you headed to your room with Thor. You both entered and he sat down on your bed, his eyes staring at nothing at all since he was calculating the trip to Vanaheim in his head. You grabbed your backpack and took out your comic books. In case something was to happen on the journey and you lost your stuff, you wouldn't want to worry about them. You took your Mythology dictionary and threw it on the table by your soft bed. Thor got up and grabbed it, making himself comfortable on your bed as he leaned back on your pillow. You smirked, you already knew what he section he was going for and smiled predicting Thor's reaction to his own description.
"I'll be right back" you said and headed to your bathroom with your backpack. You changed back into what everyone around you called the "Midgardian" clothes and headed back outside to see Thor, most engaged in his reading he didn't even see you coming out with your black outfit. You knew he was enjoying his description that consisted of talking about how mighty and powerful he was. He looked at you over the book and got up.
"This book, I like it. I never knew what the mortals really thought of me" he said and sat up.
"People love you Thor, no matter how much you feel responsible for their deaths. You didn't want any of this and did all you could to help us. People are grateful" you eagerly said and came closer to him. This was your chance to learn what happened with Malekith. You remembered Natasha's remark about how no one expected him to go back to Earth. You wanted to know what happened so badly.
"Why is it that you don't want to go to my planet? What happened?" you asked and sat next to him; he twisted his lip in a weird gesture and sighed.
"You really want to know?" he said, his voice full with grief. You silently nodded.
"When my father banished me to Earth, I fell in love with a mortal. I took her to Asgard to protect her, thinking Malekith was to destroy your planet trying to find her. But he found her here, without Loki's help I couldn't' protect her. Loki was already snitched from his cell when this happened" he looked down in his anger.
"What was her name?" you whispered. You knew this was torture to him.
"Jane... Jane Foster" his eyes filled with tears, you put your hand on his shoulder.
"She was a remarkable woman. She visited my school a couple of times; she managed to open a wormhole. I was intrigued by the Foster theory for a while. But her portal was short-lived and had no direction—opened into empty space" you mumbled and informed him.
"I told her I'd come back for her but I destroyed the Bifrost then, she tried to reach me instead" his voice was so broken, barely a whisper.
"I'm so sorry" you said and put your head on his shoulder.
"I will not let another dear mortal die because of Asgard. I will protect you with all my strength, no matter what happens." He said and put his hand on your head. You remembered hearing the exact words from a different Asgardian and he didn't hold his promise. You shrugged and felt like the meaning you put in your actions was different than the meaning Thor was putting in them. You got up on your feet awkwardly and grabbed your backpack, worried that Thor was getting wrong ideas.
"Let's go see this Freyja" you sighed, he nodded and you two headed to Bifrost to see Heimdall.
.'.'.'.'.'.'.'.'.'.'.'.'.'.'.'.'.'.'.'.'.'.'.'
Heimdall was on the same spot you saw him the first time you arrived in Asgard, his eyes fixed on something invisible and his hands rested on the erect golden sword in his hands. You approached him and were very surprised to see that lady Eir was waiting with him in the dome. You came closer to them and gave them both a smile.
"Lady ____(y/n), how are you feeling?" Eir said and to your surprise, she gave you a hug. You awkwardly looked around and patted her on the back.
"I'm alright, you're coming with us?" you asked since you didn't understand why she'd be out here at such a late time.
"No, I just wanted to warn you about your trip. Vanaheim is my home, home of the Valkyrie. I wanted you to know that your path is dangerous until you reach my niece's kingdom. She rules over those lands and she will give you the biggest welcome Vanaheim has ever seen. But there are creatures lurking in the endless pathways to the kingdom. Do be careful" she advised you and smiled at you and Thor sweetly.
"We will make haste" Thor smiled back at her. You had a strange feeling when your mind went through what she said again.
"Wait, Eir. Oh my god..." you looked at her face in awe of what you just discovered. You were completely startled. Everyone gave you a confused look. You remembered the conversation you had with her when she healed you.
"Skadi was your sister!" you recovered yourself from your amazement quickly and stared at her. She sighed.
"You are smarter than what I'd expect of a mortal, no offense" she said and raised a brow with discomfort. You weren't paying attention to her at all. You were stuck on the fact that Freyja was related to Skadi; essentially she was your daughter. Eir handed you whatever she was carefully keeping on her back. You saw that it was the huge golden bow and its matching quiver that once belonged to Skadi. You saw the countless numbers of arrows and small daggers on the sides of the leather straps that were supposed to go around your waist. You grabbed the arsenal and wore it, strapping it carefully around you. It looked so odd with your long sleeved shirt.
"Good luck, my prince" she said and got on her white horse, rode away without looking back at you. Thor pulled you by the hand, assuming that you wouldn't be getting out of your shock anytime soon.
"This is exactly why I wasn't planning on telling you the truth just yet. It will distract you and put you in danger when we travel" he sighed; you didn't hear him at all. But Heimdall's loud voice did get your attention.
"If you come back with any threat to the safety of Asgard and its people, Bifrost will remain closed" he assured you both. You didn't mind this fact since you thought you would have enough power to teleport you back while staring at your glowing hands.
"Please do as I say, when I say it" Thor whispered to you as he held onto your waist—getting you in that familiar position on Stark tower's platform. You wrapped your hands around his waist and nodded.
Heimdall pushed his sword and you saw the entire shape of Yggdrasil before you disappeared into the purple lights.
