You weren't at all surprised to see that Thor seemed not to bring himself to observe you and the way you held onto Loki while you walked. He purposefully quickened his steps, hitting the ground with his feet harder than you normally thought he had or perhaps you were imagining it—though you were almost absolutely sure you weren't. As your eyes lingered on his blood red cape gracefully caressing the cold air of the wide hall, your heart you barely managed to keep wholesome started to break apart again. You felt bad recalling Loki's cruel trick he performed for Thor which was why you decided to slow down. The entertained prince next to you couldn't ignore the way your speed started to decline and turned his head to you while matching your pace. You gulped and came to a sudden halt, just staring at the glossy grayish ground without letting go of his arm. You felt no need to turn to him or to tell him anything seeing that he tilted his head down to give you a deep stare.

"I assume I've caused this ample change of heart in you, have I?" he told you with his silky voice that had a pleading tone. You sighed out and looked up to see Thor in the distance turning to give you a quick and heavy frown after hearing his brother's voice echo. You weren't once more surprised to see that his eyes didn't linger on you for long and he kept walking—reaching the entrance door then disappeared behind it.

"I really don't think what you did was fair. As much as I understand you, as much as I know how much you've been hurt, it's best to let it go. I..." you said without removing your eyes from the door since you knew if you looked at the god of mischief even for one second your heart would veil your mind with his bewitching blue eyes and cunning expressions.

"What do you wish that I do? Do you think me so shallow that I've forgotten the promise I made? Hmph" he let go of your arm and took calm steps to stand in front of you. Your eyes blurred for a short moment as his dark armor cut the line of your sight; you blinked trying to adjust to it and traced the golden piece going across his chest.

"It's obviously inextricable now, isn't it?" he told you with a lighter voice, you looked up to him to see his pristine and pale face "I won't apologize to him because it often does not change anything. I learned that first hand and..." Loki gently grabbed your arms, precisely touching the areas Thor had touched. He regarded the blue skin as if it was poisoned and frowned at it with ephemeral curiosity.

"He had to learn who you belong to. I'm sure what happened traumatized him enough" he said with a nefarious grin.

"He doesn't need any more of that! Do you really know what a loss like that is? Having the person you love die? I do!" you almost wambled with the way you raised your voice. Loki's eyes became wider and an infinitesimal smile appeared on his thin lips as he took a step back. You sort of knew what that meant though you didn't really want to admit it to yourself.

"I'm not surprised you assume that I had no attachments but I know what real loss is" he said, his smile turning to a wicked smirk. Your eyebrows curled in sadness since you were aware that he was hiding behind his mask again. You sighed out wearily and stared into his eyes—raising your eyebrows as if asking him who it was.

"I've lost my own, ____(y/n)" Loki said with an evil chuckle, his white teeth finally showing perfectly. His eyes felt shinier than before.

"I know..." you said and suddenly advanced towards him and stood right in front of him to lock your eyes with his intensely. "I'm here I found you so please stop hurting him or yourself, or me. At least ignore him... and the others too" you told him and grabbed his big hands, rubbing his slender fingers with your frozen ones. His mask wore off quicker than you thought which left his face in gloom.

"I cannot fathom how you succeeded in the first place but I'm afraid there's no other who can. Pardon my excess desire to protect my raison d'être." He murmured looking down at your entangled fingers, his lofty language made you chuckle quietly but it ended almost too quickly as you comprehended how much his sanity depended on your existence—which soon would have to end.
