You and Steve landed inside your chambers. It was also where you had the strange dream about Loki that proved to be very accurate per se now that you thought about it. You didn't let constant teleportation take the best of you; you stood stronger than you'd ever done for him because you knew how stupid you were for almost throwing away your life before. You let out a big gasp as you tried to keep Steve steady with your awkward landing and he looked around himself with amazement trying to figure out what you just did. You gave out a forced chuckle while searching in his eyes.

"I'm sorry about that but I had to do this, I need to talk to you alone. I don't think they will understand me" your chuckle left its place to sadness as your eyes scanned over your Mythology dictionary lying on the table, you took a couple subtle steps towards it while Steve took a step towards your bed to sit and gather himself.

"I am about to freak out, just what is going on?" he said with a huge frown and sat down. You took quick steps towards him with the book in your hand and slowly handed it to him without telling him why. Steve's expression was even more confused than ever before as he regarded the book like how you imagined him to regard an iPhone.

"Ever since you found me in the café, you've always been very protective over me and always been on my side. I think that you're the only person I can turn to with what I'm about to tell" you fell on your knees before him while Steve curiously opened the first pages of the book to glance over.

"I know what Loki's done to everybody—you know, New York and then Jane's death. I know he deserves punishment for all of it. But when he was with me, he changed" you saw Steve's head rising so fast that it startled you almost, you gave a bitter smile and decided to continue.

"I am not under a spell or anything. Look Steve, I've seen his pain I know what he's been through and I've seen that he's already been punished for all that he's done. He's dead though not physically" you were barely whispering the last two words. From the corner of your eye you could see that Steve turned to the page of Loki's story and gave you a look in disbelief.

"I've seen his good side" you gently pulled your necklace away from your neck without breaking the delicate chain and showed him the emerald green necklace that didn't seem to shine as bright as before.

"He... he really?" Steve's disbelief drowned your chambers, even the misty air escaping into the room from the open door leading to the garden didn't seem to help anyone. Your eyes were almost filled with tears of remembrance again.

"He got this for me, he likes emotional movies, and he likes popcorn" you softly laughed but every memory was a stab to your heart with the fear of not being able to recover them again and continued "he is into fashion, he cooks, and he's a true gentleman with a green thumb, S-Steve"

"What if he is..." the super soldier's voice was tinged with an apologetic tone but he still seemed to take you seriously and didn't make you feel like you were fumbling.

"He was. He was under the influence of an infinity gem, used like a puppet by Thanos. I healed him just a little while ago and released him from his misery—like what happened to Tony, in a way. Loki told me to go to the tesseract. He's given into his fate" your voice was troubled, muted and barely heard; Steve looked down to the book to go over the text and looked back up at you.

"You must know better than anyone that... not everything is like it says in the books" you couldn't help but let a sob escape from your mouth, you shut your eyes tightly to stop yourself from starting to cry and heard the book closing in his hands.

"I just know that... in my heart... it is right" you said and felt Steve's hand grasping your arm, you opened your eyes to stare into his blue ones staring back at you deeply. You immediately moved your hand on top of his.
