:* Gibsie :*

April 3, 2005

I was walking around the mall with Grace on my right and Declan on my left, desperately trying to find a gift for Addy's birthday tomorrow.

"Just get her something simple," Declan offered, looking bored out of his mind.

"No, it has to be extravagant," Grace glared at him, "So, shut your hole. I'm thinking big and fancy!"

"You know it's not your birthday," Declan furrowed his brows.

"No shit Sherlock," Grace scoffed, "I'm actually trying to help. You're just moping."

"My girlfriend's in the hospital, of course I'm moping, you devil."

"Yeah, I'm so sorry about Shannon, but shut your fucking hole," She rolled her eyes, "We are at the mall and I don't need your negativity while I'm at the happiest place on earth."

"Isn't that Disneyland?" I chimed in.

"No," Grace scoffed, "It's the mall, duh!"

"Okay, well, neither of you are actually helping," I groaned, "Give me an actual idea."

"Just buy her a new tutu and call it a day," Declan sighed, his fingers rapidly texting who I assumed to be Shannon.

"If you get her a tutu, I'll cut off your dick and shove it down your throat," Grace scolded me.

"I'm not getting her a tutu!" I shook my head, "I want it to be perfect. Addy deserves the perfect gift."

"That's how men should be," Grace smiled, "Okay, operation perfect gift for Addy is a go! How much money are we talking? And what is considered perfect in your eyes?"

"I don't know, Grace," I groaned, "I just want it to be something special."

Grace paused mid step and began jumping up and down and clapping.

"Jaysus fuck," Declan sighed, "People should not have this much energy."

"I have the best idea!" She practically screamed.

I really fucking hoped she did because Addy deserved the best.

"What?" I asked.

"What's the one thing Addy has wanted her whole life?" Grace questioned.

"To be a ballerina?" Declan offered.

"No, you moron," Grace rolled her eyes, "To be with Gibsie's dumb ass."

Shit. Was that really what Addy wanted? I mean, it was what I wanted, and I always had.

But did she actually want me.

"Really?" I asked, in an uneasy tone.

"Yes, are you stupid?" Grace sighed, "The girls been chasing you for years. This is a great idea, I promise."

"Johnny's going to flip his lid," Declan snorted.

"You're so right, Deccy! We should record it," Grace giggled.

"Let's set up a video camera," He nodded, "We can camp out in the living room and catch his arse freaking out."

"I love how you think," Grace laughed, "I'm so down with that."

"Not helping," I shook my head.

"Oh my god," Grace groaned, "Must I do everything around here. Ask her out, Gibs. I'm talking rose petals on the bed, candles lit, type shit."

"You think that's what she wants?"

"I'm positive," She nodded, "It's only like all Addy ever talks about."

"Yeah, even I knew that," Declan shrugged, "Girls love romance, lad. Get your head out of your arse."

So, I was an eejit. This was an easy gift—considering it was exactly what I wanted—and with the help of these two it'd be perfect. Plus I'd buy her a little something just so she could have something to unwrap.

The day started out with me wanting Johnny to come help me, but now I was thankful he was on bed rest. He might've torn a stitch if he heard us talking about me romancing his sister.

"Okay, now that we've sorted that," Grace grinned and then looked to Declan, "How is Shannon?"

"She's in surprisingly good spirits, all things considered," He sighed, "But that's my girl for you. I'm so fucking worried, though and even more mad at myself for not realizing."

"Dec, you couldn't have known that," Grace threw an arm around him, "People with secrets are excellent at hiding them."

She was right about that.

"Get off me," He gagged, lifting her arm off his shoulders.

"Don't be so dense, Deccy," I joined in, throwing my arm around his other side, "You can't get rid of us that easily."

"You two are like mice," He rolled his eyes, "Always hanging around and eating our food."

"Yet you still can't shake us," I grinned, "Because I happen to really like your brother and really love your sister."

"Ditto," Grace chuckled.

I fucking loved Adeline Kavanagh.
And this birthday present was now my top priority.

She was finally going to be mine—officially.
And now I couldn't understand why the hell I'd waited so long.
