After a while, Virat straightened his shirt, gave Rohit's hand a soft squeeze, and left for his next meeting.

Rohit stayed back a moment longer, watching the door close behind him, before heading toward Rahul bhai's cabin where Aman, Jassi, and Rahul bhai were already discussing the day's agenda.

The moment he walked in, Aman gave him a small smile, sliding over to make space beside him on the couch.

Jassi was typing something quickly, and Rahul bhai was scanning a few documents, but his eyes flicked up the moment Rohit settled down.

"You look worried," Rahul bhai said gently, not missing the slight furrow in Rohit's brow.

Rohit exhaled, rubbing the back of his neck.
"I am... a bit. It's just—this project is massive, and it's going to be days of back-to-back meetings and stress. I know Virat won't say it, but it's already weighing on him. I just... I worry, you know?"

Rahul bhai nodded knowingly.

Aman leaned forward with his usual soft energy and said, "Don't worry, Rohit. We've got him."

Rahul bhai added with a reassuring smile, "Yeah. We'll make sure he eats, sleeps, and doesn't forget to breathe."

Jassi piped in, grinning, "And no bad habits, like skipping meals or living on caffeine."

Aman laughed. "We'll keep him in check. You're not alone in this."

Rohit smiled gratefully at all three of them, warmth blooming in his chest, "Thank you. That means a lot."

Rahul bhai chuckled softly, patting his shoulder, "Get back to work, boss of yours will scold you."

Later that night, the office lights had begun to dim one by one, the silence settling in as the day finally wound down.

Jassi, Aman, and Rahul bhai stood by the elevator after saying their goodnights to Rohit, who was still waiting for Virat to return from yet another late meeting.

"Take care," Rahul bhai said softly, resting a reassuring hand on Rohit's shoulder.

Rohit nodded with a faint smile. "I will. Good night."

"Good night," Aman and Jassi chimed in, offering warm smiles before the elevator doors closed, leaving Rohit alone in the quiet hallway.

Half an hour later, the soft click of a door opening echoed through the nearly silent floor.

Virat stepped into the office, loosening the buttons of his blazer.

The entire floor was quiet, the soft hum of distant lights the only sound.

He made his way toward his cabin, expecting maybe Rohit had already left with the others.

But as he gently pushed open the door, he froze at the sight before him.

There, on the couch, curled up peacefully, was Rohit

One hand was tucked under his cheek, the other loosely resting over his chest. The soft rhythm of his breathing was the only thing breaking the silence.

His features were relaxed, lips parted just slightly, and on them, a small, serene smile, like he had drifted into dreams he didn't want to wake from.

Virat's heart melted.

A tired smile curved on his face, and he stepped inside, closing the door quietly behind him.

His gaze stayed on Rohit for a long moment, love swelling in his chest.

Even in sleep... he waited for me.
