As night settled deeper into the heart of Lothlórien, the silvered leaves of the trees above cast a gentle glow over the forest floor. The Fellowship lay scattered across the pavilion in quiet sleep, their breathing a soft rhythm under the watchful trees. The mournful songs of the elves had faded into a gentle hum, leaving the forest in a serene and peaceful silence.

In the quiet stillness, (Y/n) stood, her gaze distant as she gazed at the forest around them. The sorrow of Gandalf's loss weighed heavily on her, yet here, in this land of light and shadow, she found some measure of calm. She heard a soft step behind her, and she turned to find Legolas, his face illuminated softly in the moonlight.

"Couldn't sleep?" he asked gently, his voice just above a whisper, as though unwilling to disturb the forest's peace.

She offered him a small, weary smile, reaching out as he took her hand. "No. I thought a walk might help."

Without a word, Legolas led her away from the sleeping camp, into the deeper reaches of Lothlórien. They wandered in comfortable silence, the ancient trees casting dappled light around them as they strolled, hand in hand.

After a while, Legolas paused, tilting his head towards her, his blue eyes warm and filled with quiet concern. "You have carried such a burden," he said softly. "The shadows we have seen, the battles fought...they wear on your heart."

(Y/n) looked away, her voice barely above a whisper. "It's hard to watch as those I love are hurt or lost...sometimes, it's overwhelming." Her fingers tightened slightly around his. "The world feels darker than it once did."

Legolas placed a gentle hand on her cheek, his touch warm against the cool night air. "Even in the dark, you bring light, (Y/n). That is a rare gift."

(Y/n) looked up at him, searching his face, and for a moment, the shadows of grief seemed to lift. She laughed softly, her voice lilting through the quiet woods. "You always say just the right thing, don't you?" she teased.

Legolas smiled, his own sadness momentarily forgotten in her laughter. "Not always. I have missed more than a few cues, or so I've been told." He chuckled softly, his thumb brushing her cheek as he held her gaze.

They stood there, sharing a quiet moment of peace amidst the burdens they both bore, their fingers intertwined as if they were two lights bound together in the darkness.

"Tell me," Legolas said after a pause, his eyes softening as he gazed at her, "if we should survive this, what would you do?"

(Y/n) tilted her head thoughtfully, a gentle smile spreading across her face. "I think I would take Hades and ride far, find a place to rest." She looked at him, her eyes gleaming. "And perhaps...I would ask you to come with me."

Legolas's hand gently held hers, his eyes full of warmth and promise. "Then it is settled, my love. I will follow you, wherever you go. I shall walk every road beside you." He lowered his voice, and his expression grew tender, his face mere inches from hers. "So long as I have you by my side, I fear no darkness."

She leaned into him, her eyes half-closed, as if savoring the moment. "Then let this be our vow," she whispered. "No matter where this journey takes us, we will find each other again."

They lingered there, resting against one another as the stars above cast their silent light over them, binding their promise in the stillness of the forest. As they walked back toward the camp, their hearts felt lighter, though they knew the road ahead would be long and treacherous.

But for now, together, they found peace.
