"Nico!" called a voice a little ways away, coming from maybe the other side of the training arena.
Nico whipped around to face the voice, but as he did so, Percy, whom he was sparring with, took advantage of the distraction and landed a kick smack dang in the middle of his chest, causing him to fall back on his butt. He landed with a grunt, glaring up at the son of Poseidon with an arm draped over his head to block the sun. Percy was grinning and offered him a hand up.
"Nico!" He heard the same person yell again, this time they had gotten closer. He got up, with a little help from Percy, and spun around to see the person.
It was Austin, his chest heaving a little as he jogged over to them. "Are you busy?" he asked.
Nico huffed. "I was," he scowled.
Percy slung an arm over his shoulder. "He's free now, since I just beat his ass," he gloated, pushing into Nico playfully.
Nico pushed him back and escaped his grasp. "You only won because I got distracted, Jackson. I would have won and you know it,"
Percy barked a laugh but didn't retaliate. Instead he poked Nico on the cheek swiftly, before leaping behind Austin to escape Nico's wrath. "So Austin," Percy was eager to change the subject. "What do you need Nico for?"
Austin sighed, lengthy and exasperated. He turned to Nico. "Could you please go collect your menace of a man from the infirmary? He was supposed to be off today, but he insisted and no one could stop him," Austin pinched the bridge of his nose.
Nico rolled his eyes. He could not believe Will. Well, actually he could, but he was really hoping that Will would take the bloody day off! "Yeah," he sighed heavily, shaking his head. "Just let me change and then I'll come and grab him,"
"Thank you," Austin said, exhausted and patting him on the shoulder. "Please hurry,"
Nico chuckled and started heading towards the cabins. "Of course,"
Austin rushed off back to the infirmary and Percy decided to walk with Nico towards his cabin.
"I had a fun time sparring, di Angelo!" Percy said as they parted ways. "Tell Will that I said hi and that he needs to take a break!"
Nico waved and nodded. He inhaled deeply as he entered his cabin, immediately stripping off his grubby workout clothes before getting into something that was clean. He really wished Will would relax for once. He always worked so hard and it cannot be good for someone to expend themselves that much.
Nico took his hair out of the ponytail it was up in and brushed through it, his hair heavy with sweat. It looked gross down, so he put it back up, but this time he did it up in two french braids to get it out of his face.
He trotted down the steps to his cabin and made way to the infirmary. When he arrived, it really wasn't that busy. Campers seemed to be behaving themselves and there were only a few kids there, all for minor injuries or routine checkups.
As he peered into the hallway, he didn't see Will tending to any of the kids that were in. So, Nico made his way to the back office, Will's office.
He knocked lightly before hearing a soft "come in". He cracked the door open and immediately saw Will, hunched over his desk, paper sprawled across it and the filing cabinet open and empty. The paper on the desk must be from there, Nico thought.
"Hey, sunshine," Nico said as he walked in, the door shutting firmly behind him. He approached Will from behind, and when the blond didn't turn to greet him, he placed a hand on his back and rubbed soothingly across his shoulder blades. "What're you up to?" he asked as he placed a kiss to Will's frazzled golden curls.
