Mortal college AU btw

Nico was having a pretty shitty day as he sprinted through the rain, only using a thin jacket to shield himself, rushing to get to his next class.

His previous class was canceled so he was able to spend lunch in his dorm, and relax until he had to go to the next one. The only issue was that he missed the campus bus to his class. Which meant that he had to book it, in the pouring rain, to try and be on time.

He let out a huge sigh as he opened the door and made for his seat. His bag, praise all the gods, by some miracle, was not totally soaked, which meant at least his laptop was safe and secure from water damage. He let out another, smaller, sigh as he finally took his seat, trying his best to be quiet.

It seemed like the class barely started, and the professor was just getting the projector up.

"What took you so long?" he heard a harsh whisper from beside him.

He turned to see Reyna, sitting perfectly as always and looking immaculate–as always. It was not fair that her hair stayed that nice and frizz free in this weather.

"Missed the bus," he grumbled and turned to pull his laptop out and get it set up for notes.

"How'd you manage to do that?" She asked, handing Nico a pencil when he was struggling to find his.

"Class canceled, lunch at my dorm, lost track of time," he begrudgingly took the pencil and managed to get the somewhat-of-an-explanation out before the professor started talking.

"Good afternoon," the professor said and a presentation popped up on the board. "Today, if some of you may have remembered, we are having a guest speaker," she turned to a man—who Nico just now noticed—standing by her desk.

And by the gods he was handsome. Nico glanced away, feeling his cheeks heat up. The man couldn't be any older than himself, he had blond curly hair with a few unruly strands that sprung in front of his face, a nice build; large but not commanding, freckles that spotted his golden skin, and a smile that was so adorably nervous.

The man stepped up to the front of the room, and behind the podium. He put his folder on the stand and cleared his throat nervously. "Hello everyone, my name is Will Solace and I am here to talk to you all about something slightly different from what you usually learn about," he smiled to the room and turned to the next slide of the presentation. "I am going to cover evolutionary anatomy..." gods, his smile was absolutely gorgeous.

Nico didn't even notice when Will stopped speaking, he was too distracted to. He barely took notes the whole time, hardly listened to a thing he said, even though he was looking at those pretty lips for most of the time.

"Thank you, Mr. Solace," the voice of his professor broke Nico out of his daydreaming and knocked him into a harsh reality. One where he took no notes and hardly listened and oh no that would most definitely be on the next test!

Reyna elbowed him, rather hard actually, in his ribs and he whipped around to face her.

"Did you listen to a word he said?" She asked, and Nico knew damn well she already knew the answer.

Nico gulped and shook his head, his face flushed from embarrassment. The class was clearing out, the sounds of muffled conversations and bags shuffling filling his ears. "I... I got distracted," he said, scratching the back of his neck.

Reyna raised a brow. "Uh huh, I couldn't possibly guess what from," she was packing up and he did the same.

He swung his bag over his shoulder and followed Reyna out the door. "Come on, Reyna, did you see him? He was absolutely gorgeous!" he exclaimed as they walked down the hallway and towards one of the lab rooms.
