Facing Daki alone, Tanjiro used Hinokami Kagura: Raging Sun to slice her incoming obis, he then charged towards her and evaded her frontal attack with Fake Rainbow before using Fire Wheel in an attempt to slice her neck. But Daki saw the incoming attack and swated him away, sending Tanjiro flying into the dirt. The Young Demon Slayer narrowly dodged getting ripped to pieces by the Upper Rank with Recovery Breathing, she then sent blow after blow with her obis but Tanjiro was able to counter with Pearl Flower Moongazing, slashing the obis into pieces. Daki then approached Tanjiro as he was regaining composer and order over his breathing. Angrirly calling him an "Ugly piece of trash", she sends her obi ripping across the district, forcing Tanjiro to defend her attacks again, Daki then suddenly leaped into the air and two obi sashes suddenly connect to her, to Tanjiro's shock and surprise!.

While in the cave, the slashed obi had began to escape out the hole made by Tengen's Sound Breathing and fly into the sky, reattaching themselves to Daki. Tanjiro wondered if they're the ones he'd previously sliced off?, he watched the demoness as she absorbed the sashes into her body, while he was still trying to compose his breathing. He swinged at the demon but Daki vanished instantly. She reappeared on the rooftops and she exclaimed that she was right that a Hashira has indeed arrived, as her hair turned white, Daki proclaimed that Muzan will now be proud of her!. Tanjiro was shocked at the demon's transformation.....she had become even more powerful!. He also wondered what had happened to Tengen and the others. Tanjiro was then confronted by a man for creating a disturbance in front of his House. Tanjiro was becoming nervous......civilians were beginning to notice the battle between him and Daki!. The man demanded that the Demon Slayers leave their Red-light district, as the people of Yoshiwara have a strict set of rules that they all live by, telling Tanjiro that a brawl isn't allowed and yelling that they should leave at once.

Daki became annoyed at the man's commands and prepared to retaliate but Tanjiro saw this and forced the man back to prevent him from entering the attacks path, yelling for everyone to return to their homes. But without warning, Daki's obi slices deep into the district, destroying buildings and slashing the ground, cutting down civilians. Tanjiro was too slow to react and got slashed deep in the shoulder, while the man that was yelling at them to leave had lost his hand to an obi slicing it off. As Tanjiro healed his wound, the Demon Slayer watched in horror as the whole street crumbled to rubble....the street fulled with the screams of bystanders horrified at seeing the mangled bodys of innocent lives!. Satisfied, Daki began to walk away, but Tanjiro called out for her to face him. Annoyed, Daki asked why Tanjiro wanted to continue confronting her saying that the ugly don't deserve to live " And you should rot and die with them too you ugly Daken!." said Daki, her voice fulled with hatred and disgust. The survivors couldn't comprehend the massacre before them!!!......all they could do was cry as they held their dead loved ones and pull the corpses free from the debris. The injured man weakly called out, asking everyone to return inside.

Tanjiro was outraged!.....Daki's insults had struck a deep nerve in him!, causing his eyes to grow blood shot and making him seethe with intense rage!. And then a memory flashed through his mind. A few days previously, Shinjuro Rengoku had wrote a letter addressed to Tanjiro, apologizing for his errors and thanking him for saving his son Kyojuro's life. He apologized for the way they first met, adding that Kyojuro and Senjuro are much better now. He wrote that his incompetence was only the start of his downward spiral, as his wife Ruka's death had caused him even more anguish. Drinking himself into a stupor since then, he claimed that there wasn't a fool bigger than him. To him Kyojuro and Senjuro were fine sons unlike himself, Shinjuro noted that while he was abandoned in training, Kyojuro had taught himself to become a Hashira, despite only three volumes about Flame Breathing. Shinjuro commented that Kyojuro seemed to have more of Ruka's blood than his own and that Kyojuro and Senjuro are fine boys. He then writes that Tanjiro himself is even more impressive, as he must be a Sun Breathing user, noting the mark on his forehead and neck and that Sun Breathing users are born with such a mark.
