Severing the fish demon's arm to save Kotetsu, Muichiro ordered the child to run away to avoid impending his fighting. The demon healed and lunged at Muichiro, but the Hashira dashed forward and beheaded it, but to Muichiro's suprise, the monster continued to move around and eventually it regenerated its head completely!. He quickly noticed the vase on the creature's back and sliced through it, finally killing the demon and confirming his suspension that it was made with a blood demon art. Looking at his rescuer, Kotetsu held onto Muichiro tightly, he was so grateful for the Mist Hashira for saving his life!. As Muichiro tried to move on and walk away, Kotetsu begged him to save Kozo, who was under attack. He also explained that Hotaru had been polishing a blade day by day alone and begged him to save them!. Initially Muichiro attempted to ignore Kotetsu but suddenly he remembered something that Kagaya Ubuyashiki had said to him.

"You will definitely get yourself back Muichiro.".

Muichiro recalled when he was visited by the Corps leader and his wife as he lied in recovery after a demon attack. Kagaya, noticing the boy's confusion, told him to only think about surviving, and that as he stays alive, his lost memories will come back to him in time. The leader informed Muichiro not to miss the opportunity, as even insignificant events can trigger it to eventually clear his mind. Taking Kagaya's words in, Muichiro hoisted Kotetsu on his shoulder and sped through the forest, much to the young swordsmith's fright. As he ran, Muichiro wondered if he was making the right decision, since moving to save Kozo and Hotaru will jeopardize the village's protection, but nonetheless, Muichiro reaffirmed that he can succeed, as Kagaya Ubuyashiki had recognized him as the Mist Hashira of the Demon Slayer Corps!.

As the winged demon's head attempted to summon another sonic shriek, Tanjiro sliced it in half to stop the attack, but the halves formed two new mouths instead and fired at Tanjiro. The Hashira was stunned by the attack but realized that it had weakened, indicating that the four demons share a certain amount of power. He noticed that etched onto each demon's tongue is an emotion!. The demon that Tanjiro was facing was the manifestation of joy. Tanjiro stabed through the halves of flesh, but the winged demon appeared again and launched the sonic attack, though the Demon Slayer dodged in time, he then saw that the demon flesh on his sword had vanished. The demon circled back to swoop and slash the Demon Slayer's shoulder.

The demon flew down again and cut Tanjiro's right shoulder before attacking again and kicking him against a tree. Tanjiro was soon slashed on the forearm, shoulder, thigh, and chest as the Oni continued his rapid assault. The Oni swooped once more and cuts Tanjiro's back, but Tanjiro was able to cut through his head simultaneously. It slowed down and healed as Tanjiro sprints at him, forcing the demon to prepare another sonic strike, but Tanjiro succeeded in cutting through its head to stop it, and the winged demon fell to the ground, though it regrows its lost half and takes flight once again. Realizing that he was unable to help them at the moment, Tanjiro begged Nezuko and Genya to please stay alive!. At the same time, Nezuko was wrestling with Karaku and Genya was struggling to move with a yari in his chest. Sekido angrirly ordered the demon of pleasure to quickly rip Nezuko's limbs off!. But Karaku intended to enjoy his scuffles and instead told the demon of anger to help Aizetsu. The demon of sorrow was about to attack Nezuko but couldn't pull his yari out, giving Genya the chance to shoot him, blowing back his head!. Sekido was angered at Aizetsu's slow thinking as the headless demon pulled his yari out of Genya before quickly healing his head and neck.

"You're so weak it's sad." said Aizetsu, the demon believed that his enemy's wounds would kill him, but then Genya unexpectedly started to recite the Amida Sutra, leading Sekido to demand the Demon Slayer's head be split in half!. Aizetsu begrudgingly complied and swinged his yari down, but to his shock he missed completely!. Genya then suddenly appeared behind him trying to slice his neck, only to be shocked by Sekido's lightning. Genya struggled to pull the trigger of his shot gun, but he mustard the strength, aimed at Sekido and fired!........severing the demon's right hand!. The demon of anger refused to believe Genya was still alive despite his wounds from Aizetsu, who then swinged his yari and slammed the shaft into Genya's chest, sending him through a room!.
