Chapter Fourty Seven: into the swordsmith village

After the duel was over, Tanjiro asked Naho,Kiyo and Sumi about his new sword, but the three girls became hesitant, revealing that Haganezuka written Tanjiro letters painted with anger and blatant refusal to make a new one. The Tsugikuni siblings became dismayed but they were informed that they can enter the village where the swordsmiths reside. Once outside the Butterfly Mansion, a female Kakushi introduced herself and explained that she will be taking Tanjiro and Nezuko to the village. She gave them blindfolds, ear plugs, and nose plugs for Tanjiro to put on, as the village is kept secretive. On their journey, the siblings were designated with different Kakushi along the way, who were guided by different Kasugai Crows to keep the village's exact location hidden. Eventually Tanjiro and Nezuko removed their blindfolds and marveled at the sight of the swordsmith village, with all its inhabitants wearing hyottoko masks to conceal themselves. Though he smelled a nearby hot spring, he was directed by the Kakushi to the village's chief.

"Thank you " said Tanjiro calmly as he bowed.

Meeting the chief, a small elderly man named Tecchin Tecchikawhara, Tanjiro and Nezuko calmly introduced themselves with a respectful bow.

"Oh, what nice young children. Come. I'll give you some Karintō." said Tecchin

The chief then explained that Hotaru was apparently missing at this time but they were looking for him. Tanjiro was confused by the name "Hotaru", but the chief explained that Haganezuka's full name was "Haganezuka Hotaru". Tecchin was dismayed at Hotaru's fiery temper, even as a child, and Tanjiro apologized since he was the one to break his blade.

"It's his fault for making dull blades that break" said Tecchin ominously. Tecchin then suggested that Tanjiro and Nezuko go and relax at the hot spring adding that if Haganezuka wasn't found, Tanjiro will be designated a new smith. Being directed to the springs, Tanjiro suddenly heard a loud voice calling out to him.

"Hello Mitsuri,can you please cover up It's almost dinner time" said Tanjiro as Mitsuri came running down the steps to greet him, the Hashira was ecstatic!. Mitsuri was dismayed after she asked someone for their name and was completely ignored but seeing Tanjiro had cheered her up. Tanjiro was about to enter the spring when he was suddenly hit by a loose tooth. Surprised, Tanjiro looked at the only other person at the springs. Tanjiro gritted his teeth in anger he recognized who it was!.

"Hay that hurt you jerk!" yelled Tanjiro full with annoyance and irritation. Tanjiro unclothed himself and swimmed over, he was going to give that rude jerk a huge piece of his mind!.

"This is for bumping into me and for throwing your tooth at me!" said Tanjiro as he slammed the other boy's face into the water.

"Hay i know you, you're the new Eclipse Hashira, your Daken!" said the boy.

"My name is not Daken, my name is Tanjiro, Tanjiro Tsugikuni, and don't you dare call me by that ugly slur!" said Tanjiro as he slammed the boy's face into the water again.

"You look like the Wind Hashira Sanemi Shinazugawa, are you his little brother?" asked Tanjiro but the other boy abruptly left at the mention of Sanemi.

After relaxing at the springs, Tanjiro returned to the village where he was greeted by Nezuko and Mitsuri, Tanjiro was impressed by the large amount of food Mitsuri had eaten, Mitsuri claimed she "really only nibbled". Tanjiro explained what happened at the springs, and Mitsuri explained that who they met was Genya Shinazugawa the younger brother of the Wind Hashira Sanemi Shinazugawa, this was a surprise for the Tsugikuni siblings as Sanemi never mentioned having any siblings, and this made Mitsuri and the Tsugikuni siblings upset, they were saddened by the possibility that the Shinazugawa brothers may not be on good terms, since they all love and cherish their siblings. Seeing that Genya had not appeared,they all decided to give him Onigiri. While walking to Genya's room, Tanjiro asked his fellow Hashira why did she join the Demon Slayer Corps, Mitsuri immediately became flustered and explained that she joined to find a worthy man to marry, since she wanted someone strong to protect her,and seeing that she couldn't just introduce herself to a Hashira, she became one, rendering Tanjiro and Nezuko speechless.

They soon saw that Genya wasn't in his room, and Mitsuri's attention was distracted by a Kakushi telling her that her sword being honed,asking her to come and check on the adjustments. Tanjiro offered to walk her, but the Love Hashira explained that she will be leaving the village soon,leaving him and Nezuko dismayed. Seeing this Mitsuri commended the siblings for battling an Upper Rank and citing that such a fight contains invaluable experience.

"And congratulations on becoming a Hashira Tanjiro, you and your sister have all my support!" cheered Mitsuri, leaving them shocked by her bright positivity.

"Oh and since you have been granted an extended stay you can train with a special weapon hidden in the village" said Mitsuri. The next day after having breakfast provided by the village, Tanjiro and Nezuko set out together to discover the hidden weapon. As they were walking they came across the Mist Hashira Muichiro Tokito who was talking to a young swordsmith.

"Hi Mui!" shouted Tanjiro happily as he hugged his friend. Muichiro had become like a little brother to him. Muichiro explained that he was going to train with a training dummy, wich is why he was talking with the young swordsmith, because he needed the key to activate the dummy. Tanjiro and Nezuko looked on and they were shocked, why does the training dummy look like Uncle Yoriichi?!.
