Chapter 96: The Finale pt.7!

Bakugo POV:
I thought it was over. Didn't know what else I could do. A part of me had already accepted it. Even so, the only thing I was worried about were Deku and IcyHot. They would definitely come for me. But I also wasn't sure what I could have done to make sure they would get out of this unharmed. I looked the monster in front of me right in its ugly eyes. I grinned. Then started laughing. If I would go down right now, I at least wanted to give that thing the feeling that to a certain degree I was the one who won. It came closer. I took a deep breath. Preparing myself for what was next. That thing gave of a defining screech. I had to cover my ears. I felt as though I was paralized. I knew there was no more hope. It slowly started to come closer. It must've noticed that I had given up running in circles and wasting my stamina. It growled. Then slowly started lifting its right arm. I sat on the floor looking up at him slowly closing my eyes. Suddenly a loud bang echoed through the cave. I opened my eyes. The thing had halted. Tilting his head as if it was asking whether I made that noice. I stared back at it. It started turning his head. It went a lot further than expected. While his head was now facing the opposite direction the rest of his body was unmoved. I followed the creatures lead and looked in the same direction. I froze. It was them! Deku and Shoto!

The creature started turning the rest of its body. This was no good sigh. Were they safe behind those bars? As it slowly started to move towards them an uneasy feeling ran down my back. My heart started pounding. "GET BACK! IT WILL DASH AT YOU!" I wasn't sure what happened next. All I could see was how the creature started sprinting towards the gate and getting stuck in it right after. Were they ok?! I couldn't tell. Before I was able to check on them I suddenly spotted a sharp object in one of the corners of the room. It seemed to be an old knife or something and was stuck in the wall not far from where I was sitting. Without hesitation I got up and rushed towards it. I laid my hand on the handle and started pulling. The blade was pretty rusty and I hoped it wouldn't break off. After a few seconds of continued pulling it suddenly came out. It wasn't huge and quite old but it would have to do. I had one chance at this and I wouldn't miss it. My body was aching. I felt dizzy and was worried about my boyfriends. I closed my eyes and took another deep breath. I shouldn't waste too much time. With that I opened them again and sprinted towards the beast. His neck was the only part not covered in scales so I aimed for that.

Piercing through its skin was easier than expected. Black goo splashed out of it and all over me. It tasted disgusting. I couldn't even described it if I wanted to. The smell wasn't much better either. The creature screeched. Even louder than before. I tumbled back. It was an unbearable noise. The echoes from the empty cave made it even worse. The screeching slowly started to get quieter. Once it had stoped completely I could finally open my eyes again. It wasn't moving. My heart was pounding as I got closer again. With my right foot I slightly kicked against it. No reaction. Had it really been that easy? Would the other monsters also be that easy to kill? I walked over to its neck one more time and pulled out the knife. I should probable hold on to it. In that moment I remembered something. I looked to my left. Behind the bars sat a crying Deku holding an unconscious IcyHot. He smiled at me. "K-Kacchan, you're alright." Those were happy tears. "Is Half n' Half ok?" I asked calmly and relieved. "I think he's just unconscious. I was able to pull him away just in time." "Thank god." I slid down in order to rest for a moment. While sitting on the floor I held out my hand in between the bars. Deku reached for it and for a moment we caught our breaths. "Do you think you're able to get to our side?" The nerd asked after a short moment. "I'm not sure. Maybe I have to pull that thing out first. It should have destroyed enough for me to fit through." "Do you think it's really dead?" "I think so, yeah." I responded. "Just give me one more moment, ok?" "Are you hurt badly?" I shrugged. Truth was I was surprised how well I was still doing considering how much fun that thing had with me.

I got off my ass. "I'm gonna try to help you." Deku suggested and gently laid down IcyHot. "Alright try pushing it. Maybe by its shoulders. I'll pull the arms. We don't need to get it far just enough to free the hole it made." He nodded and we both got into position. "Alright, on three. One, ...two, ...three." Both of us grunted as we started using all our strength to move the creature. At first it didn't budge but after a few attempts it finally loosened up. I fell onto my butt and Deku into the gate. He sighed in relieve. "Finally." I climbed over the creature and pressed myself through the bars. Deku gave me a hand. Luckily it worked. The moment I was on the other side Deku jumped into my arms. I held onto him tightly. "I'm so sorry." I said. "For everything. I'm so sorry for giving you a hard time." Deku loosened his grip and looked at me. "I'm so thankful you're fine." His whisper was flooded with relieve. He leaned in and kissed me "Let's get out of here. Shall we?" He asked. I nodded with a smile on my face. Deku kneeled down next to IcyHot. And I helped getting him onto Dekus back. "Let's go."
