No ones POV:
All three started running towards the stairs. Midoriya in front and right behind him Todoroki holding onto Bakugos waste while he clenched onto his shoulders. He was barely able to put one foot in front of the other anymore. "C'mon! We're so close! We can do it!" Midoriya shouted. Bakugo gave Todoroki a quick glance. A big lump started forming in Todorokis throat. As they finally reached the first few steps Midoriya could make out the top of the staircase. It looked like a black hole sucking in anything that dared touching it.

The stairs seemed to never come to an end and the portal still seemed so far away. How were they supposed to make it in time before the Spectator caught up? Once in a while Midoriya looked back making sure that the other two were still behind him. Hope rose more and more inside him every step. They would make it. All three would actually get back home after all this time. He wasn't even sure how long they had actually been stuck in this dream world. It must have been at least a whole year. As he ran further and further up he thought about all that had happened. He couldn't help but smile. Home. It was so close. Before he could realize the staircase started turning into a platform at the very top he looked back one last time. Todoroki and Bakugo had fallen back a bit. "Kacchan! Sho! Just a bit further. You can make it!" For a second Midoriya thought about going back down but before he could make a single step back Bakugo shouted: "Have patience, Nerd! We don't need your help!" Midoriya took a peek over their heads. It seemed as if the Shadow giants couldn't make it up the stairs. Even so the Spectator had already made about half of the steps. They need to hurry!

Midoriya reached out his hand right before Todoroki and Bakugo made it. Todoroki grabbed it and both were pulled up the last few steps. Both sat at the edge of the platform the stairs right behind them. "We made it! Come, let's go!" Midoriya had a bright smile on his face. His voice filled with relive and happiness. "Get up guys. Don't just sit there. The Spectator is going to catch up. We need to go! ... What's wrong? We don't have time! Let's go!" Bakugo sighed. "We won't be going with you." "What? No. What are you talking about? We really have to go." His voice was shaking. He couldn't understand. Why won't they just go through the portal? Both Todoroki and Bakugo on the other hand seemed to know exactly what was happening. Both stared at the ground with faces so sad Midoriya got really scared really fast. All that happines vanished. "WHAT DO YOU MEAN?" Tears ran down his cheeks. "We don't have time." Todoroki whispered. "THEN LET'S JUST GO!" His voice broke as he shouted for the others to follow. "They can't" Bakugo and Todoroki quickly turned around. He caught up. Terror filled Todorokis chest. Quicker than ever he had  jumped to his feet and ran towards Midoriya. Before he could react Todoroki was already pushing him towards the portal. "Only one can exit." Todoroki said right before Midoriya touched the portal. "Never forget: we love you more than anything!" Those words echoed through his head as the world slowly vanished around Midoriya. "KACCHAAAN! SHOOO!" Todoroki smiled. "Goodbye my love~"

It felt as though he was falling, when suddenly pictures appeared in front of Midoriya eyes. They showed a young man running. Once in a while he looked back with a terrified expression. Blood dripped from his arm and he was limping. Suddenly a dead end appeared in front of him. He hectically turned around. A tall, muscular man in a hero costume stood behind him. The hurt man made a hand movement and a portal appeared. It looked exactly like the one in the dream world. But as he walked through, it closed and his body fell unconscious to the ground. "That was me." A voice echoed through the black endlessness. Midoriya couldn't move, ... or speak for that matter. He looked down his body. It was slowly turning into ashes but before Midoriya could panic the voice spoke again. "A long, long time ago. I never had tried to enter the dream world I created myself before. And I should never have. Because once I entered there was no one left to control it. The couple days I took to recover were enough for those people to create a consciousness of themselves. Isn't that insane?!" The voice giggled in helpless. "After that they broke everything I had build up so carefully. They took MY WORLD AND MADE IT THEIR OWN!" It took a deep breath. "At least I still had some control. Enough to pull others inside. I thought if they could fix that which I can't, if they could just turn my world back to how it used to be... Maybe then I could get out. And... it worked... TWICE! But both times someone had to get to the portal before me. And now you're gone. AGAIN~!" The voice slowly faded into nothingness and Midoriya lost consciousness.

"NOOOOOOOOO" Todoroki fell to his knees. "WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!!!" He could no longer hold the tears in. "YOU TOOK MY CHANCE OF FREEDOM!" His heart ached the way it never did before. "YOU BRAT!" "Sho we need to get moving" Todoroki quickly snapped out of it. As soon as he did, he noticed the platform had started to break around them the moment the portal had fully closed. Todoroki only managed to get back on his feet with a great deal of effort. But before he could get to Bakugo the Spectator had already reached for him. Bakugo struggled but was barely able to do anything due to his injuries. Then the floor disappeared under the Spectators feet. Bakugo was pulled along, when Todoroki was able to grab his arm at the last moment. The Spectator lost his grip and fell into the abyss alone. Todoroki pulled Bakugo back onto the crumbling platform. "We have to get over here as quickly as possible before the gap gets too big and we can't get down." He pointed to the stairs and the hole between them through which the Spectator had fallen. "Right." Bakugo answered. He coughed. "Hold on just a little longer ok?" Bakugo nodded and wrapped his arm around his boyfriend's neck. "Ready?" "Yeh" Both leaped off the platform and just barely made it. Now the stairs started crumbling two. "Let's go" Bakugo grunted as he got back on his feet. "We have to go!"

Both stumbled the last steps back down. "What now?!" Todoroki hectically looked around. They were lucky, no one had spotted them so far. "O-Over ther-" Bakugo pointed to a collapsed building overgrown by plants. They limbed over to the hiding place and got behind it. Todoroki leaned against one of the boulders and Bakugo rested his exhausted body against Todorokis chest who held onto him tightly. "You know I won't make it right?" Bakugo asked and both went silent. "You have to say hi to the old bar tender for me, ok?" Bakugo said with a weak voice. "Please don't..." Todoroki cried. "I love you, Sho." "No, please..." "I love you." "Don't." His crying got worse and worse. Bakugo straightened up and turned around. He held Todorokis face in his hands. Tears running down his face. "Shoto, I love you so unbelievable much. You need to know that... Did you hear me?" "No, no, please. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm-" Bakugo wrapped his arms around Todoroki, who quickly hugged him back. "There is nothing for you to apologize for you hear me?" Bakugo tried sitting up again but failed and just slid down into Todorokis lap. He grunted again. His breathing was heavy. The pain got worse and he could feel the live being drained out of him. Todoroki didn't know what to do. He just cried and cried some more. "I love you." Bakugo said one last time. "Said it way too few times while I still had the chance to." Todoroki held his head next to Bakugos. " I love you more." "Ha, not possible." Bakugo answered. "There is a lot in which you can beat me Kats, but this... this is the one thing I proudly win at." Bakugo gave off a painful giggle. "If you say so." Todoroki held Bakugos head close to his ear and listened to his last breath. Then everything went silent.

And even after giving up his entire live to save his boyfriend whom he will never see again and now having to hold the other as he died in his arms, Todoroki wasn't allowed to scream. He wasn't allowed to release all this pain and anger and frustration and grief and so much more. Had to make sure not to attract an enemy. Make sure to not let this all be in vain. He had to hold it all in, quietly sobbing as he held the colder getting corpse in his arms.
