Bakugo POV:
The heroes statue gave off a different vibe now that it was all clean. I was honestly impressed how well we had managed in such a short time and with limited resources. I took a deep breath. The only thing that was left was the golden plaque. And it seemed as though that last step was my responsibility. What would we do in case it didn't work? I didn't want to imagine it. My heart was beating out of my chest as I began whipping the dust and dirt off of it. I could sense that even though they tried their best to concentrate on keeping watch, both Deku and Shoto tensed up as they heard the sound of my brush scraping over the surface.
Nearly done. I called over the other two. It was risky but I wanted us to do this together. Deku grabbed my left hand while Shoto held onto my right shoulder tightly. I lifted my arm and used the cloth in my hand to wipe over the plaque one last time. I couldn't open my eyes. No one talked. The both of them still didn't let go. I risked it, praying something had happened. My stomach dropped to the floor. All my fatigue of our last year hit me at once. My strength left this artificial body of mine. Nothing. There was nothing. Nothing had happened. All of us starred at the statue in front of us. It was as though we were frozen in time. None of us had any energy left. We had reached our limits over and over again. But this time the reason we kept moving nonetheless had vanished into thin air as if it had never existed in the first place. Shoto slumped to the floor. After he had hit the ground he grabbed my pants and held onto them. Deku covered his mouth and buried his face into my shoulder.
Midoriya POV:
I couldn't bear this feeling. Kacchan was starring into nothingness. My chest tightened and my throat formed into a knot. I covered my mouth and with closed eyes I buried my face into his shoulder. We were just standing there when Kacchans knees suddenly gave in. I opened my eyes back up. This wasn't fatigue. He hadn't given up either. As he fell Kacchan tried reaching for halt on my arm. For a millisecond I could see a dark red liquid surrounding his upper body and escaping his mouth. His body landed with a dull sound and whipped up the dust surrounding it. I was completely frozen. Wasn't capable of understanding what had happened. In the corner of my eyes I could see Shos expression. I can't even describe what it looked like. In that moment I knew he had realised it before me. He hectically looked towards my right. Before I could follow a voice I had heard once to often echoed through the village. It made shivers go down my spine. Bubbled up rage inside my stomach. "What a shame. It was entertaining watching you struggle but I'll be taking over for you now."
White long and slightly curled hair covered most of his face. From behind it two dark brown nearly black eyes peeking out. The man in front of us was clothed by a black robe. It looked as though someone had wrapped a giant curtain around him and he wasn't wearing shoes. The man lifted his head and some strands of his hair slid to the side. He was missing an eyebrow. Instead of it there was a big scar. But what made his appearance even worse was that most of his chin was gone. I could practically see all of his bottom teeth only a bit of lip was left. The flesh around and inside his mouth was mostly black and a dark red. The whole in his skin continued all the way down to his neck wich was decorated with a golden pocket watch hanging on a thin chain. Now that I took a closer look at the parts of his skin that were exposed I could see more scars than healthy skin. He was even missing an ear.
"If I may introduce myself. I am the Spectator. Welcome to my world!" His grin was the most terrifying thing I had ever laid eyes upon. Suddenly it vanished again. "MOVE" His voice made the cells of my body vibrate. Sho immediately grabbed Kacchans arm and wrapped it around his neck before pushing me out of the way. Only in that moment I was able to snap out of it and quickly noticed we were surrounded by shadow giants. All of them waiting with hungry eyes for their master to give his sign. The Spectator lifted his left arm and his palm covered itself in a blindingly white light. "My Waka, ... the dearest of them all, my love, arise once more and return to me." For a moment I was completely blind. Nothing but white in my vision. Once the light started dimming again I took a look at the statue. It was not only repaired but seemed to shine even more now. The Spectator put down his arm again and patiently waited for something to happen.
Suddenly the sky started darkening. Big and heavy clouds made any natural light disappear in mere seconds. Loud thunder made Sho and me flinch and apparently caused Kacchan to awaken. He sat up. "Don't move! You're badly injured!" Sho sat next to him and tried keeping him still. Tears streamed down his face. "You'll be alright. Just hang tight, alright?" Lightning lit up the village. All around us purple and poison green bolts crashed into houses and the ground. I kneeled down and protected both Sho and Kacchan with by body. One of the bolts crashed into the army of shadow giants. The situation got even worse when I realised the things that got hit turn into solid stone statues. What was happening here?! The Heroes statue began glowing in the same white light as the Spectators hand did. Two lightnings one purple one green aimed right for it. Suddenly those were the only bolts left. The Spectator held his arms open as he grinned inside the light with wide open eyes. He locked up and indeed something was descending from the sky. As it came closer it started looking more and more like a person.
