Todoroki POV:
I tried keeping my breath steady and calm. From behind the statue I could see where Izuku and Katsuki were hiding. They were kneeling behind some boxes filled with bottles a little further into the dead end. I could hear the loud footsteps come closer. I was turned away but could see a big shadow passing the corner appear on the floor. It stopped. I took another look at Kats. He held his breath, eyes wide open as he stared at what was behind me. I was too scared to turn around. What if it ended up hearing me? What ever was behind me snorted. The wind from it moved a few dried leaves right next to me. A few seconds later the thing continued walking and the footsteps got quieter again. The other two sighed in relief. I turned around and took a look from behind the statue. Kats got out of his hiding place first. "What was that?" I asked. "It looked exactly like that thing." Izu said while pointing at the statue behind me. "You mean those things actually exist?" "What now?" Kats asked. "We should keep moving." Izu answered "We still don't know where we need to go." "Well it doesn't look like we'll find the exit here if you ask me." Kats said. "I think Izu's right. We should go a little further. Maybe we'll find something beyond the village." I suggested. "Alright, but let's be more careful from now on. No shouting anymore and stay close to hiding spots."

We continued walking for a little bit. As we got closer to the town square we started to spot more and more of those creatures. Both alive and as statues. The closer we got the more there were. Instead of the human statues panicking and running in just any direction they seemed to be running away from the square now. Whatever we were walking towards it seemed as though it might finally get us out of this place. As nice as it had been spending so much valuable time with Kats and Izu the more I thought about it the more I realised that pretty much anywhere we went we were met with problems and danger. It was time to go home. And if we couldn't all go together then I just needed to get one of them out and start over again. Maybe if I repaired what else needed it then I could open another portal. Of course it would be nearly impossible because I wouldn't know where that portal was going to show up or what needed fixing but I was determined to get both of by beloved partners out of this hell and I was willing to do whatever it took to so so. And if it would need another year or even more I didn't care! I wasn't sure who I would send out first but I guessed I would have to decide that depending on the situation we'd be in by then.

"Guys, look!" Izu pulled me out of my thought process. As I looked up I could see he was pointing towards a statue ahead of us. "Seems like we've made it to the square." Kats pointed out. We took cover behind one of the buildings close by. On the square was a round platform and a few steps leading up to it. In the middle of the platform stood a tall statue. It didn't give off the vibe of the others though. It was made of different stone and not as detailed as the others. In addition it was a lot taller, nearly reaching the top of the surrounding buildings. The statue showed a woman wearing a long cape. She wore tight and short clothing decorated with a lot of belts and pockets. Her boots were high enough to connect to some knee guards. Her chest and elbows had similar armour. Even though her long hair was pinned up a few strands were able to reach all the way down to her upper thighs. On her head she wore some funky glasses. They seemed to be some kind of working goggles for welding. She wore a confident grin. Around her upper body was an arrow pouch and the fitting bow. Her right arm was stretched towards the sky and she held a lightning shaped weapon. It looked as if she was making a winners pose. Maybe she used to be this villages hero or god. Now the statue was just as overgrown as the rest of the city. "Look over there you two. I think that's a memorial stone or something." Kats whispered. "Where?" I asked. "At her feet." "Seems like too much text for just her name." Izu said. "Maybe her legend is written there?" I wondered. "Should we check it out?" "Isn't that too risky?" Izu asked. "She's in an open space. Plus, there's a lot more of those creatures here than further back." He added. "Well there's none here right now." Kats said and immediately made his way to the squares centre. Izu and I looked at each other for a moment before following his lead with a sigh. On the subject of being more careful.

"Here stands the statue of our godly Hero. Waka is not only known for her craftsmanship but also for being the only one to have tamed the green and purple lightning. Without her our town would be in shambles and all our people turned to stone. She has protected us for years and we pray that she will never stop. Don't ever forget who has given us every day of our life."

"Tsk, and where is that so great hero now?" Kats asked. "Does that mean... all these statues-" Izu covered his mouth. His eyes were wide open. I placed my hand on his shoulder. "We don't know that for sure." "Oh, you mean some freak created all these statues and then came up with that shitty legend just to have fun on his Saturday afternoon." Kats said while rolling his eyes. "Do you think she died?" Izu asked. "I don't know. She could have abandoned this town just as well." I answered. "We need to get off the square again. For now this isn't any help."
