It all happened so fast. One second, the two teens were walking and laughing at a story Tokoyami was telling Y/n.

"Oh my god, Toko! That is so wild!" Y/n says, laughing loudly.

"I'm just telling the truth!" Tokoyami says, laughing as well.

"Looks like this is where we separate! I'll see you tomorrow, Toko," Y/n says happily.

"Okay, see ya!" Tokoyami says as Y/n looks both ways and starts to cross the street.

The next second? All that could be heard was the screeching of tires and the scream of a teen girl getting hit by a speeding car. Y/n was thrown across the street from the impact, hitting her head hard.

"Y/N!" Tokoyami yells, running over to his best friend. "You're going to be okay, I promise," Tokoyami says as he pulls out his phone and calls for an ambulance. The car that hit Y/n speeds away from the scene.

The next few hours were a blur. Tokoyami eventually finds himself in the hospital waiting for information.

"Tokoyami! What happened?" Y/n's foster dad calls out as he walks over with his husband.

"It all happened so fast... she was crossing the street and the car came out of nowhere. I didn't even have time to stop her. I'm so sorry, Mr. Aizawa," Tokoyami says as tears fall down his face.

"It wasn't your fault, Tokoyami, don't worry about it," Mic says, placing his hand on Tokoyami's shoulder.

"For Y/n L/n," A doctor calls out as he walks in. Aizawa and Mic walk over to him.

"We are their foster dads," Mic says.

"They got lucky only sustaining a head injury and a broken arm. They are stable and alive, but we are unsure when they will wake up," The doctor says.

"Thank you," Aizawa says.

"You're welcome. They are in room 110 just over there, feel free to go in," The doctor says. The two men nod before looking over at Tokoyami.

"Come on," Mic says. Tokoyami nods and walks to the two adults before all three of them walk into the room. Tokoyami holds back tears as he sees his best friend lying in a hospital bed, with he only things telling him that they are alive being the heart monitor's steady beating and the rise and fall of their chest.

"They'll wake up soon, I'm sure," Mic says, making Tokoyami nod.

"Yeah, I hope so," Tokoyami says as he holds back tears.

"Here, let's get you home," Mic says to Tokoyami a few hours later when he sees Tokoyami trying to stay awake.

"Yeah, okay," Tokoyami says tiredly.

A few weeks passed, and Tokoyami was sitting at home when his doorbell rang. He stands up and walks to the front door, opening it to reveal Aizawa.

"Hey, Mr. Aizawa, what's up?" Tokoyami asks.

"It's Y/n, they are awake," Aizawa says.

"Oh my god! Seriously?" Tokoyami asks excitedly.

"Yeah, come on, let's go see them," Aizawa says.

As they enter the hospital and walk to the room where Y/n was staying, they see Mic talking to the doctor with a worried expression on his face.

"Zashi, what's wrong?" Aizawa asks as he walks over with Tokoyami.

"I got them to talk, and they seem not to remember anything, including their name or where they are. The doctor thinks it has to do with the head injury. Tokoyami, why don't you go in and see if you jog any memories? You two have known each other since before their parents' accident. Maybe it'll help," Mic says.
