"When are you coming home?"
"Uh, soon."
He sighed and flopped down onto the couch, "You've been gone all day."
"I know, but class has finally started."
"I know that, but I've barely seen you since I've been home."
"I'll be home right after this jazz class, okay?"
"Okay."
She heard it in his voice that he wasn't too happy about her not being home. He was so accustomed to her being there.
Her studio was finally open for business, and to her surprise, there actually was business.
People came to her grand opening and committed to her studio for a year, which was long enough to be in a competition later on in the year.
Parents were more than excited for that.
There were about 30 girls so far, which was more than enough to start a studio with. Chase couldn't be more thrilled, especially to choreograph and teach all these girls willing to learn.
That unfortunately kept her from her husband. The girls were either at school or there with her at the studio in class, but Roman was always at home alone.
He'd come get the girls when they were done with dance for the day, but his wife was still at work, and they barely got to have a conversation.
The girls had fallen asleep in the car, so it was easy to put them in their beds once she got home.
It was quiet so she assumed Roman had gone to bed.
She ate a banana and went back upstairs after cleaning up a bit, not even realizing it was one o'clock in the morning.
She saw him in bed on his laptop when she came into their room.
"Hi." She said.
He nodded his head to acknowledge her but went back to typing.
She changed her clothes and turned around to go back to their room, and he was still in bed typing.
She bit her lip and went over to his side, moving his laptop from his lap and taking its place.
"Sorry. It took longer than I thought it would." She told him.
"I'm really tired, Chase." He rubbed his eyes, "It's late."
"I'm sorry, baby." She wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him. "Forgive me?"
He sighed, "Babe, you've been working non stop. I know I'm the last person you want to hear that from, but I think it's because of the baby situation and--"
"What baby situation?" He gave her a look, "So what? I'm not getting pregnant. It's okay. I'm fine."
"But you're not."
"I'm used to it, Roman."
"Your doctor said it'll take up to a year--"
"I get it, it's only been 10 months, we have more time."
"Then why are you acting like this?" He asked her.
"Like what?"
"Disconnected."
"How so?
"You come home when I'm sleep, when we're together you barely talk to me--"
She let go of his neck, "What are you talking about?"
