Maybe Just A Little Royal

"Happy Birthday!" London jumped on the bed repeatedly, trying to wake her dad up. "Daddy! Wake up! It's your birthday!"

He groaned and rolled over onto his stomach, smashing his head into his pillows.

"We have your present!" she jumped onto his back, "Wake up, Daddy!"

"We'll try again in a few minutes, sweetie, he seems tired."

She sighed and went over to her bed with Penelope. It was only 6:45 in California, but we were on Chicago time, and it wasn't that early in Chicago. Stupid time zones.

I looked over at him and I noticed he wasn't breathing like he normally did when he was sleeping. I started to lightly play around in his hair, "Why won't you get up for her, baby?"

He groaned again and turned his face towards me without opening his eyes, "I'm trying to avoid this big present you guys got me."

"It's going to be there no matter what, so get up, okay?"

"In a minute."

"Alright, whatever you say, birthday boy."

I started to get out of the bed, but he pulled me back in, "Just a few more minutes, I promise."

"Okay..."

We let him rest for a few more minutes and then London went back to work. I even went over and got Penny and placed her on his back. She grabbed her toes and rolled around until she rolled all the way down to his butt.

Roman grabbed her before she could roll anymore and she giggled when he turned over and threw her in the air.

"Good Morning, my beautiful baby girl." he kissed her and threw her up again, "Hello! Hi, baby girl!"

He threw her up one last time and she didn't like that too much. She made her 'I'm about to cry face' and it was coming quick.

"Awe, Penny, I'm sorry." he said to her, in that baby voice that I found adorable. "Daddy didn't mean it, I promise."

He sat up and we got ready for his big day. I knew he thought I was going to forget,  but what kind of wife would I be if I forgot his birthday?

Everyone was waiting down in the lobby for us and that was the first surprise. Roman wasn't a birthday party kind of person, but being with his friends and family wasn't all that bad.

We got breakfast and everyone sang him happy birthday, which he was totally embarrassed about. Normally, it was just us at home standing around a cake, but I had to switch it up a little bit this year.

"Alright, no more, okay?" Roman told me.

We were walking down the street to his next surprise when he pulled me over to him.

"There's so much more, Ro, I told you it was big."

"It's just a birthday, babe, nothing serious. It's not really that big of a deal."

"Look," I stopped walking and put my finger to his chest so he knew I was serious. "Its your birthday. You know I love birthdays. So why can't you just take one day out of the year to let me spoil you? It's my job on your birthday to spoil you, baby, let me do my job, please?"

He sighed and slowly nodded his head, "Okay, lead the way."

We caught back up to everyone else and stopped outside of this really nice club.

"Um, Chase, you do realize this is a club, right?"

I checked my phone and made sure everything was set up inside, and thankfully it was.
