She fluttered her eyes open and saw her room light still on and an arm around her.
Upon further investigation she saw Roman behind her getting some rest. He was supposed to be on the road right now, but he refused to go anywhere without his wife.
Her lower half was sore but that was because of her pushing out two babies that she hadn't even seen yet.
She slowly turned towards Roman and snuggled into him, getting comfortable on the nice, big hospital bed. After birth beds were much more spacious than regular hospital beds.
"Babe, you okay? What number?" It was a reflex for him to ask when he felt her moving around in the middle of the night.
"I'm fine, just sore."
"Why are you up?" he checked his watch, "It's four in the morning."
"My body is probably used to it."
"You better get used to being in bed." He laughed.
"Ew, I'm going to hate it. I have a studio to run."
"I'll help you, I'm sticking around until you're off of bed rest."
"What? No, you can't do that."
"Why not?"
"Roman, you finally got your shot at a title match. A real one."
"What the hell does that mean to me when you're in this condition?"
"Roman," she gave him a stern look, "you need to pack your bags and get ready to be on the road soon. You've already missed--"
"I don't care, I'm not going anywhere until I feel like you and our kids can come on the road with me again."
"Speaking of our children, where are they exactly?"
"My parents have the older ones, the new editions are in the nursery until the doctor says you can see them."
"Have you seen them?" She wondered, "Are they beautiful?"
He smiled and nodded, "They're so beautiful."
"We haven't even picked names."
"I have. You tell me what you think, okay?" he cleared his throat, "I know you love the name Noah, so our boy is Noah, and our little girl is Noelle."
A smile crept onto her face, "Perfect."
"Really?"
"Yeah, I love it." she sighed, closing her eyes and opening them back up, "It feels so weird not being woken up by pains. I'm awake because I want to be."
"Feels good though, right?"
"Greatest feeling in the world right about now."
"I'm glad. It was so hard to see you like that."
She kissed a small part of his chest that was exposed, "Can you take me to see the babies?"
"No, you're supposed to be in bed."
"Please? I can't sleep without seeing them."
"Babe, no."
"You can push me in the wheelchair, baby, please? You've seen them, all I want is to look at their faces, that's all."
He turned onto his back and thought about it. It couldn't hurt to go up to the glass and let her see them in the bassinets.
