"You smell different" Hyunjin whispered, his nose sniffing at Felix's neck, smelling how his pheromones were slowing changing.

Felix blushed, moving away as heat rose to his cheeks, his body feeling hot as he looked down.

"How do I smell different?" Felix asked, placing wood into the fire as Hyunjin shrugged.

"I don't know...You just smell like me" Hyunjin whispered, not catching the way Felix gulped, his face turning white as his hands shook slightly.

"Maybe your scent is just rubbing off on me. We've been living together for years after all" Felix said, hoping that Hyunjin would buy it and move on.

Hyunjin just nodded, pushing past Felix and out the cave as he went to go gather more wood. Felix sighed, feeling conflicted with his feelings and emotions as he took a look at Hyunjin.

They've known each other since they were kids, and when they grew up and left their parents, they decided to live together, not wanting one another to be alone. As living in pairs was better than living alone.

They've known each other for years, but lately, things have changed. Felix always had a crush on Hyunjin, but never tried anything, afraid of crossing a path that should never be crossed. But it was as if fate wasn't on Felix's side.

Hyunjin got his rut at the same Felix got his heat. Felix doesn't remember much, but he remembers that he and Hyunjin slept together, their pheromones too powerful to ignore. Felix recalled the way Hyunjin kissed his body and held him. He recalled the way Hyunjin rolled his hips.

And he recalled how Hyunjin knotted him.

That was almost a month ago, and ever since then, Hyunjin acted like nothing happened. Felix tried to bring it up, but each time he tried, Hyunjin would ignore him, walk away, or change the topic.

Did Hyunjin regret sleeping with him?

Because what Felix knew was that he had no regrets.

Felix walked to the lake, gathering water into his bucket, making his way back to their cave, his mind racing as he suddenly froze. A scent, a scent  he hasn't smelled before. A scent of lemon and orange. He dropped the bucket, hearing it hit the grass, the water spilling over the rocks as his breath caught in his throat.

Hyunjin emerged from the cave, a woman behind him, making Felix stop in his tracks. Hyunjin looked at him, making his way towards him, the woman close behind.

"Felix" Hyunjin choked out, making Felix force a smile at the woman, his heart pounding in his chest.

"This is Nabi" Hyunjin told him, making Felix hold out his hand, watching her take it as she bowed and shook his hand.

She was stunning, absolutely ethereal. She was a fox hybrid, tan skin, burnt orange hair, and dark brown eyes. She looked around their age as she seemed nervous, not looking at Felix, her eyes fixated on Hyunjin.

"She'll be staying with us for a few days. She's not doing well and needs some help getting back on her feet" Hyunjin told him, making Felix nod.

"Make yourself at home. If you need anything, please let one of us know" Felix told her, making her smile as she shakes his hand in thanks.
