Trigger warning.
This chapter does have violence in it. For anyone who is regressed while reading this I would recommend not reading it until you are out of your headspace.
Alex's pov
I woke up in what I am assuming is the morning -considering I have no way to know what time it is down here- because of movement in or around my cell. I rub my eyes to get the sleep out of them and then look around and see attractive guy who was sitting food on the table in my cell which also already has the insulin pen on it, the needle and the stuff he bought to check my sugar since you can just by those things at the pharmacy without a prescription. So, I would say my assumption that it is the morning was correct because why else would he have brought food? Well unless he just happened to be hungry but still the odds are I am most likely right that it is morning time. Last night sometime after we ate dinner he gave me Lantus since my insulin pump ran out and then when he got our food for lunch he also got the stuff to check my blood sugar. It has been higher than it should be but I mean that is to be expected since I have been on my insulin pump for a few years and haven't gone back to only injections until now. Also, All we have is the Lantus which doesn't contribute to what I eat, that's what the fast acting insulin is for except we don't have any of that and you have to have a prescription for that. Even though I have a prescription for insulin, if attractive guy went to get it they wouldn't let him because he isn't on my approved list of people who can get my medicine and also, he doesn't leave very much.
I assume he isn't allowed to except to go get food or use the bathroom, but he has been with me the entire time watching me. He even slept down here although he slept on the outside of my cell and made sure it was locked before he went to bed. He also let me still be free to move around in the cell even when he went out of it so I got to sleep on the bed which was better than sleeping in a wooden chair would have been. "Sorry, I didn't mean to wake you up yet. I was going to give you five more minutes" "it's ok" again this guy is a lot different from the other guy who was with him yesterday when I first woke up from when I was kidnapped. I get up from the bed and go over to the table he is sitting at and sit down in the chair across from him, "do you want to check your sugar first or do you want me to give you the Lantus first?" he asks. I think about it for a moment, "I'll check my sugar first and you could set up the injection while I do it" I say and he nods and moves the stuff to check my sugar with closer to me before preparing the injection. I set everything up and then stick my finger with the lancet and then let the test strip suck up the blood and wait for the monitor to tell me what my blood sugar is. It takes a few seconds but once it loads in it says my blood sugar is 298 which isn't very shocking considering I am off of my pump now and since I had no fast acting insulin only the long lasting one. I am feeling alright though probably because my blood sugar has been high for so long that my body is just becoming adjusted to it but we are trying to keep it as low as we possibly can.
I show attractive guy the screen and he nods "it's a good thing I brought you nothing with carbs in it for breakfast which should help a little bit and I got you some water to drink so that should also help flush some of the sugar out of your system." I nod in agreement with what he said. Usually that's what I do when my sugar is high and I am hungry. I'll eat proteins since they have no carbs in them and I'll drink a lot of water to try and flush the sugar and ketones if I have any out of my body. I look at what he brought for me to eat and it looks like it is an omelet which is all protein and shouldn't make my sugar go up at all. He gets up from where he was sitting and comes over to me with the injection since it is ready now "where do you want it at this time?" he asks which I do appreciate that he asks me where I want the shot instead of just giving it wherever he wants to. I think about it before rolling up the sleeve of my sweatshirt on my left arm. "In my arm please" I say and he nods "alright" he then grabs an alcohol wipe and wipes a spot on the back of my upper arm to clean the area first. You can get insulin injections in the back of your arms, in your stomach but you have to be two inches away from your belly button, in your upper thigh, or in your butt. I have only ever gotten insulin injections when I was on injections in my arms and my stomach. It doesn't seem like it would be a fun time to get one in my butt and then I also was always scared to get them in my thighs so I just leave my thighs alone, I don't even put my insulin pumps on my thighs even though I can.
