The flashlight shining in Parker's eyes irritated her, but considering it was Enid holding it, Parker didn't complain and kept her mouth shut. She was trying to give her the benefit of the doubt, considering she was new to the whole doctor thing.
Parker held a piece of cloth to her nose to try to stop the bleeding, with Daryl very kindly pointing out the bruise beginning to form over her cheekbone.
"Have you ever had a concussion?" Enid finally turned off the flashlight as she asked the question.
"Yes," Parker answered, blinking a few times to try to get the dots out of her vision that had formed because of the light. "Once or twice."
"Okay, so.. on the bright side, I don't think you have one," Enid informed her. "I can't be sure, though. If you're experiencing any dizziness or nausea, you should probably take that as a sign that you have one. Overexertion could cause more damage."
"In simple terms, she's fine?" Daryl asked.
"Well, I can't-"
"That is what she just said," Parker spoke over the girl, waving a hand in her direction. "If I am experiencing any of those-"
"Shut the hell up, I was asking so both of us could understand." Enid looked between the two as they bickered, speaking hesitantly.
"She... yeah- yes. She's fine." Enid confirmed, crossing her arms over her chest. "If it makes you feel better, you can wake her up every few hours and ask a few basic questions. While she's sleeping."
"You know, you really don't have to do that," Parker said, shooting him a sharp glare. "I wouldn't do that if you want to make it to tomorrow."
"It would really just be for safety reasons. And also only for tonight," Enid tried to explain to the two of them. Even if they weren't listening, it counted for something. "Just check for any changes in how she reacts or in her responses."
"I'm proud of you," Parker said to the younger girl as she stood from the chair, giving her a small smile. "I mean, never tell somebody to wake me up again. But still."
"Thank you," Enid turned away to hide the smile on her own face, pretending to mess around with some of the medical supplies. "Take care. And no more fighting."
"Hey, if I get into a fight, I'll make sure it's against someone half my size," Parker replied jokingly, heading towards the entrance of the tent.
"No more fighting!" Both Enid and Daryl said at the same time. The tones of voice being the same. The volumes on the other hand were very different.
"Okay," Parker turned around to face the two, holding her hands up in fake surrender. "Daryl, we have to go. Rick radioed saying he wanted to talk with us. Remember?"
"Yeah.." He all but scoffed, moving across the small space, holding the tent flap out of her way so they could leave. "Come on."
As they walked towards Rick's tent, Parker looked at Daryl, noting the tension that only seemed to form whenever her brother was around. Or just at the prospect of having to talk to him.
"Are you okay?" She asked, looking ahead to make sure she had a clear path before turning her gaze back to him.
"You got punched in the face and you're askin' if I'm okay?" Daryl muttered, not taking his eyes off the tent ahead of them where Rick was waiting. "I should be askin' that."
"I'm fine," Parker insisted. "You're the one who had sand in his eyes and who was used as a punching bag."
"I got 'em a few times," Daryl argued, finally tearing his gaze away for a moment.
