Around the world, disaster had begun.

Floods ran rampant across entire nations. The sea churned violently, waves crashing with unnatural force as if the ocean itself had been personally offended. The reason was undeniable—an entire island had been erased from existence. Its destruction displaced the surrounding waters, throwing the balance of the world into chaos. Sea levels were rising everywhere, from the Grand Line to distant shores like Windmill Village.

The world felt unstable.

On the waters surrounding Egghead, an overwhelming Marine fleet advanced.

Nearly one hundred Navy vessels cut through the sea in tight formation. Warships of varying sizes filled the horizon, including twenty enormous battleships armed to the teeth. This was a force capable of leveling a nation—far surpassing the scale of a Buster Call. Thirty thousand Marines stood ready for war.

Leading the operation were nine Navy Headquarters Vice Admirals.

And at the very front of the formation, standing calmly even ahead of them, was Admiral Kizaru.

The approaching swarm triggered Egghead's Sea Beast Weapons.

Mechanical titans burst from the ocean in response. A massive mechanical giraffe lunged forward and clamped its steel jaws down onto the ship Kizaru stood on, crushing wood and metal in a single bite.

Before it could inflict further damage, the Admiral dissolved into light.

He reappeared in front of the beast's elongated neck and struck at full speed, his body blazing as he delivered a devastating kick. The impact shattered reinforced plating and sent a shockwave through its frame.

The cyborg beast crashed back into the sea, floating lifeless and sparking as it drifted.

Kizaru adjusted himself lazily and proclaimed he intended to end the war with a delicious bowl of ramen, even as the remaining Sea Beast Weapons roared and prepared for battle.

He was here to kill Vegapunk.

The Admiral and the scientist shared history. The Pacifista lasers existed because Vegapunk had studied Kizaru's power. It was clear the Admiral took no pleasure in this mission, but Vegapunk had researched the Void Century.

And Kizaru knew he was nothing more than the Navy's puppet.

Within Egghead, a call was intercepted—one placed directly to Mary Geoise.

York.

One of the Vegapunks had betrayed the others. The satellite representing Greed.

She rambled confidently about Egghead belonging to her. She boasted that if the Five Elders attempted to break their deal, she would call all five Seraphim to her side. Arrogance dripped from every word.

Saint Peter asked her a simple question.

Could she create the Mother Flame herself?

York laughed.

She laid out her demands clearly. They had to promise that she and the lab would make it out of this unharmed. In return, she wanted to be made a Celestial Dragon.

They agreed.

And then everything changed.

Her confidence shattered instantly. Her voice cracked as she began crying, begging them to save her.

Even the Elders—and Kizaru listening in—were caught off guard.

Because standing over her were the Straw Hats... and Bonney.

She cried hysterically that Straw Hat Luffy was there and he was going to kill her.

Luffy sat nearby, happily gorging himself on a chunk of meat while she wailed.

York: I can't take this!!

Ryo walked over, visibly irritated. He drew the hilt of his sword and ignited it, the glowing blade extending outward until its tip hovered dangerously close to her neck. He glanced toward his captain.

Ryo: Hey bro, since she's no longer of any use to us and she's being really loud and annoying can I just kill her?

Zoro: I'm up for that.

The traitorous satellite squirmed desperately, terror written all over her face.

York: No! no!

The real Vegapunk shuffled over, his long tongue hanging from his mouth as he looked around at the chaos.

Vegapunk: what a disaster this has been, I've caused you all such trouble.

The Straw Hats didn't look particularly bothered. The atmosphere was strangely calm despite everything.

Nami: eh we forgive you, but she's a different story, so luffy, what's the plan for her?

Luffy took another large bite of meat and paused for a moment, thinking.

Luffy (mouthful): they want to keep her alive right, let's keep her as a shield when we run away.

Bonney (mouthful): so it's like a hostage situation huh?

Ryo chuckled and flopped onto a nearby couch, grabbing a burger and watching the crew. Sanji busied himself serving Bonney pancakes. Robin sat recovering from her injuries after fighting the Seraphim.

Jimbei (to Robin): you're not in pain are you.

Robin: much less than before thanks to chopper's treatment, but thank you.

Jimbei: we should thank you, you did a fine job saving vegapunk.

Robin smiled softly at the fishman.

Robin: well I certainly didn't do it by myself, we all make a good team.

Ryo continued eating his burger when the room suddenly filled with gasps.

Luffy had snatched the transponder snail from York, a massive grin spreading across his face.

Luffy (to York): turns out you're just what we need, we're forcing our way through, time to set sail.

And just like that, the plan was decided.

The crew was ready to move.

And that's a wrap
