We Get in Trouble

"One.. Two.." Selena didn't have time to finish counting because someone took her by her arm and throw her on the road.

"Selena!" I yelled. I ran to her side and helped her get to her feet. "Now what do we do?" I asked.

She tried to answer me, but again, the man pushed her to the ground then looked at me. He was wearing black clothes, he had also a black hat and something covering his face. We could only see his dark eyes.
I couldn't let that person hurt me or Selena. I didn't know when I've started defending her, but I thought that if she was my other sister now, I had to help her.
I stepped between her and the man.

"What do you want? Leave her alone." I glared at him threatening.

"It's none of your business boy." He said. From his voice, I could say he wasn't good, something was evil about him.

Selena got to her feet behind me, again.

She took my hand and mouthed: "Run."

Before I could say anything, I ran along with her and hid behind a red car. The man followed us then stopped, he seemed to have lost our trace.

I put my hand on Selena's mouth so she wouldn't shout for help.
I looked back at the man but he was simply... gone.

I let Selena free from my arms. Then we locked eyes.
Selena broke the awkward silence: "Your eyes... they're beautiful!" She said smiling this time.
Sure they were beautiful, actually it's hard to tell what color they are, they're blue-green eyes which was strange the fact I never met someone who has the same ones like mine.

I didn't know what to say back, then the only thing that escaped my mouth was: "Controlling the enemy huh?"

"Oh come on!" She pushed my shoulder, "I couldn't even talk! And you want me to control that stupid man?"

"Uh-huh... So I think I've just saved you?"

"Not even in your dreams. But I think we're late now. Luke and Kate must have been there next to the statue for like more than 10 minutes."

"They have to wait. We got in trouble remember?" Before I lost my courage I asked her: "You didn't tell me, who's Luke?"

I saw sadness in her eyes but she answered immediately: "He was my boyfriend..."

"Oh..." That was all I could say. I never knew that and if I did, I would've never tried to ask her. I thought I just hurt her feelings, and I hate when I do that with people.

Suddenly, someone surged from behind the red car. For a moment I thought it was that man, but then I realized it was a baker.

"You little kids!" He shouted at us, "What do you think you're doing with my car!"

"I'm sorry sir," I apologized quickly, "we're doing nothing to you car!"

"You're hiding! From whom? Who're your parents?"

I hated also when someone mentioned my parents.

"They're not here sir. I'm sorry but we need to leave."

"You dare touch my car and leave without cleaning it? Oh no, you didn't guess!"

Oh great, now we were going to wash cars.

I looked at Selena and I could read her expression: you happy now?

"Hey. Don't look at me like that! I owe that car a favor for hiding us."

"Yeah great," she rolled her eyes, "Good luck with that." Selena turned and was about to leave me when I grabbed her arm. She glared at me but for some reason I wasn't afraid of her so I didn't let go. "What are you doing?" She asked me.

"We were in that together, we clean together."

"We don't have time to argue." She said as I was still holding her arm, "We need to leave now! And I mean right about now."

"What are you two talking about?" The baker interrupted.

"Our father is... Well um... a policeman sir." I said aloud, "And if you don't let us go, I'm afraid I'll be forced to call after him so he could arrest you!"

"A policeman?" Selena laughed as we were heading to the lion statue.

"Oh come on! I saved us twice today and_"

"No you didn't. If I didn't remind you about Luke and Kate, you would've been cleaning that car right now." I won't lie, but she was right.
