As I ran, I bumped with someone.
"Jace!" Selena said.

I wasn't sure how Selena got here. But I was glad to see her.

"Yeah..." I was panting. I looked behind me.
I lost Jaz, and she didn't come after me.
I felt a little relieved. But also, I had a feeling of sadness rushing inside me. I tried not to show it.

"Where were you?" Selena yelled. "We thought you were with the pink-haired girl all time!"
Actually, she was right. But I didn't want Selena to know what had happened right before now, and why Jaz won't be coming anymore.

"Yeah..." I said. "I slept in a stranger's house yesterday. Well, I told him I was lost. So he let me in."

Selena nodded. I stared at her, not at something specific at all, but somewhere in her face.

"What?" She asked me.
"What are you looking at?"

"Nothing." I got back to reality. "Just thinking how I can find Kate... You know, and Luke as well."

"Do you remember when you two had a fight?" She asked, almost laughing.

"Yeah... In times you were fooling me."

Selena glared at me. If she could, she would've probably killed me right away.

"Jace. I'm sorry, I told you that! You know I'm not in a good shape_"

"Shh..." I put my fingers on her lips, so she stopped talking. I leaned in, and she closed her eyes. But I knew that if I did it, I would be fooling myself. So I backed away.

"Come on. We must find Kate and Luke." I said. Selena opened her eyes, and looked surprised I wasn't in front of her anymore, like so close.

"Sounds like a good idea." She said smiling.

I thought for a second, then the question occurred to me.
"Um... Selena?"

"Yeah?"

"How will we find them?"

"Need an expert? Fred would have answers."

"You slept here?" I asked, stunned.
I looked at the pile of papers in the corner of an apartment. Did they really sleep here? They must've had the worst nightmares of their lives sleeping on a pile of papers.

"Where did you get those anyway?" I asked them.

"Well,..." Fred said, "I bought like... 67 books, and well, you know..."

"Yeah... Sure. That should take practice." I said. "So you tore 67 books so you could sleep, in time you could've knocked on any door, and asked if you could have a room for the night."

"Pretty much this way." Fred replied.

"Smart..." I murmured.

"Yes well..." Selena interrupted. "We didn't have the idea of being fooled by some Dark Wizards around. Pretty much like you did yesterday."

"Why would you care anyway? You're one of them. Aren't you? They won't hurt you if they find you."

"You have no idea what Dark Wizards are capable of, even with someone from their kind."
