"What_ how_?" Kate said.

"I think," Elsa said, "I'm pretty good in opening doors."

"Wait," I paused, "you did that?"

Elsa nodded. I couldn't believe we had a wizard Elsa with us.

"Wizard of Magic Portals." Luke introduced her.

I felt like if Elsa and Luke have been here before because he knew exactly where we were going.

"You were here!" I said.

"Yes we were." Luke said, "We came here before rescuing you. Paolo told me we must find three balls of crystal if you want to save your father. First he told us it's in Rome. Then Elsa opened that portal and here we are! Mission complete! Now we must find one. After that we start searching for the second, then the third. And Paul Ford is good again!"

"I don't understand." I said, "Elsa couldn't open that portal in New York?"

"No." Elsa said, "The only way to ancient Babylon is Rome today. Don't ask me why, because I don't know."

"Sounds cool." Kate looked at the ground. And I could guess what she was thinking. She was thinking about the wish she had made.

"Hey." I said, "How do we get to the crystal?"

"We must enter the city first." Luke suggested.

The roads leading into the city were hard-packed dirt. Strolling up the path toward us was a dark haired boy of about six, wearing a plain brown toga and holding a gnarled stick. The boy glanced from our faces to our clothes. He dropped the stick and darted back toward the main road. We must have seemed pretty strange to him, because he began shouting anxiously in a language none of us knew.

"Hey! You!" A girl's voice shouted. I turned back and saw a girl maybe younger than me, with dyed-pink hair. She was pretty, with white robe and a necklace that showed a blue bead representing in white the city of Rome.

I looked at Luke, then at Elsa. "You guys know this girl?"

Elsa shook her head.

"Who are you?" Asked the strange girl, her skin wasn't like the Babylonians. It was more clearer, like some roman child.

"I'm Jace." I said, "And this is Luke. Elsa. Kate. And I suppose you're..."

"Jasmine." She said, "You can call me Jaz."

"Ok Jaz." Luke cleared his throat, "Where are you from? I guess you're not from here."

"No indeed." Jaz said, "I'm from_ Why are you asking anyway?"

"Because you're obviously not from here."

"It's none of your business."

"Hey, try not to play with my temper or I'll_"

"You'll what? Kill me?"

"Maybe."

"Try me."

"I think you should_"

"Guys, guys!" I shouted, "You would be great in killing each other. But not here. Not today."

Jaz studied me with her green eyes. "Fine." She said, "What do you want?"

I didn't know what made her try to help us, but from her look I could see she wasn't a simple person wandering in ancient Babylon.

"Ok. First question." Elsa said, "How can we talk to the ruler here?"

That was a good question, because we knew nothing there, and only the ruler could've been able to help us.

"You made a wonderful choice." Jaz said, "But talking with the ruler won't help you at all."

"So what?" I asked, "We know nothing here and_" I stopped, what was I thinking?
"You." I told Jaz.

"What me?" She said.

"You can guide us through this city."

"With those clothes!"

I looket at my clothes. I was wearing a black t-shirt and dark pants. Why dark? Ok never mind.

"Hey you." That was my sister, she sounded not pleased at all, "We never thought we could be brought here by entering a wall. And yes, we will be tourists in those clothes in this wonderful city of yours."

Jaz glaret at Kate, then looked at me. "Is this your sister?"

"Well, yeah." I said, "No comments. I've heard them a lot."

Kate shot me a look that said you're dead.

"Ok fine." Jaz said finally, "I'll help you. But no personal questions. Follow me."

I nodded. But I wanted to ask her a lot. Like, how did she know english, or how did she get here, or if she was even a normal person. But sure, first I didn't.

Jaz was guiding us. Elsa, Luke and Kate were talking about how will we find the crystal. I sneaked next to Jaz.

"Hey." I said nervously, "You're not from here, are you?"

She glared at me. "What did I say about personal stuff?"

"Oh right. But I was trying to make a friend, that's all."

"Look." Jaz began, "I don't need friends right now. I'm fine by myself, and happy about it."

"Oh." I looked at her while she walked, "You're from Rome."

Jaz stopped and turned to face me.

"Why are we stopping?" Elsa asked.

Jaz and I were nose to nose now. She was glaring at me, and I was... well, almost crying.

"I said," Jaz whispered, "no personal stuff."

Elsa ran to my side and separated us.
"Are you two okay? You barely know each other!"

"Yeah we're fine." Jaz answered her, "Just keep following me."

We kept walking half an hour. No one talked or said one simple thing. Finally I took the opportunity.
"Ok. I am tired. Can't walk anymore. Need something to drink. So hot. Want to go home."

"Alright baby boy." Kate was laughing, "Wait till mommy comes and take you back home."

As soon as she mentioned mom, I started to cry. I mean sure, I've always listened to people talking about her, but never actually cried when someone mentions her. But now my tears were falling alone.

"Um... Jace?" This was Elsa, "You okay?"

I wiped my tears. "Yeah." I replied, "I'm fine." Elsa put an arm around my shoulder and kissed me on the cheek.
"Don't worry." She told me, "I'm here."

I was glad she was with me after Selena left me for good. I was betrayed by somebody I loved and needed someone to comfort me. And here she was, Elsa, always by my side.

"Hey. You two." Jaz said, "Sorry for interrupting your precious moment, but we need to get going."

Elsa glared at her. Then she slipped her hand into mine and said: "Come on. I want to tell you something." She looked at the others. "Go on. We'll catch you."

Kate shook her head and looked at Luke, then at me. "You can't be serious! I mean you can't just trust_"

"I'll be fine." I told Kate, "Just go."
