A World Full of Magic: The Revenge.

I make a Desicion

I stayed a long time alone. I didn't allow Kate, Luke or Jaz to talk to me. I could feel my eyes were red from crying. After about three hours, and it was afternoon, a guard opened the door.

He told Jaz something, and her expression darkened. She pointed at Luke and said something back to the guard. He nodded and left.

"What was that for?" Luke asked.

"Not to worry." Jaz said, "There's nothing important. He just asked who was older here."

"How old are you?" Kate asked her.

"15." She answered, "I came here two years ago. I was also 15. But here, you don't grow up."

"You mean you came from the future? Like us?"

"Yes." Jaz said, I was surprised she was so honest, "I came with my friend. They... He's dead too."

I looked at her, and saw she was really sad.
"Looks like we're equal." I said. Jaz raised an eyebrow and smiled at me.

"You know?" She said, "You're not annoying after all."

I couldn't say if it was a complement.
I was so angry. Furious. I wanted to scream aloud. I lost everything now. I hated my father for real, and put all the bad things that happened with me recently on his shoulders.

"I will kill Paul Ford for what he has done." I said, staring over Jaz's shoulder, into the wall, "I will tear him to peaces if it was the last thing I do."

"Jace." Kate said, "You don't know what you're saying. Calm down and think straight."

"Don't try to face me." I said, "I am the leader." I could hear my voice getting louder as I spoke.

"Dude!" Luke said, "You sister's right. You must calm down."

"Don't try to stop me, Luke." I said, "Stay out of this."

Jaz looked at me in horror.
"I can't believe you!" She said, "I said the same thing when my friend died. We know what we are, but know not what we may be. I've changed, I wanted revenge at first. But I became one of the citizens. I've never thought I could live here after what happened. But I was so_"

That's when a strange thing happened. The door opened and I saw someone I didn't expect to see, not even in my dreams.

"Fred?" I said aloud, I was relieved and confused at the same time. "What are you doing here?"

He smiled a little. "Sorry I didn't introduce myself." He said, "Wizard of Magic Portals. Now come on, we need to leave." He looked at Jaz. "Hi. I'm Fred by the way. Nice to meet you."

Jaz decided somehow to come with us. We ran to the desert. We had a little luck on our side, because the queen left the town, and the king was busy with his guards and... Well that's not normal we got out that easily.

"How did you get rid of the guards, Fred?" I asked him as I stopped.

"I..." He began to say, but didn't have time because someone else spoke behind me.

"I helped him." I turned back to see Selena looking at me. I couldn't stand seeing her in front of me.

"What are you doing here?" I shouted, "You're lying again!"

Luke grabbed my shoulders. "Jace! Stop it alright? She helped us getting out of the_"

"I don't believe her." I glared at him, "She's probably lying, again!"

"No." She said with a serious tone, "I made the queen get separated from the king. They had a fight two hours ago. That's why the guards were distracted."

I glared at her. I wanted to know if she was lying or not. But she had a real poker face, you couldn't read her expression.

"Jace." Jaz touched my arm from behind, "Maybe we should listen to her now."

I turned toward her. Here face wasn't where I expected it to be. It was so close. Somehow I didn't mind it.

"Ok." I said gently, "If you say so."

I turned toward Fred. "Let's leave."

"But," he said, "you didn't reach your goal!"

He was right. We were here to find a ball of crystal out of three to help my father lose his dark powers.
I looked at Selena. If I could help her get rid of her dark powers, maybe she could love me for real this time.
I didn't share my idea with anyone.

"Alright." I finally said, "Let's get that crystal ball first."

"Yeah of course we will." Kate said, "From?..."

"Oh you blind!" Fred laughed, "The balls of crystal are in secret places. They're hidden. In mountains, caves, mazes, underground."

"Yeah right." Luke said, "Here, there's no technology to dig, we can't just_"

"I don't think we have to." I looked at a mountain in front of me. The others followed my gaze.

"Oh Jace." Kate said, "I can't believe that mountain was here from the first place and I didn't notice it!"

"Yeah." I said, "Go see a doctor when we get back. All of you."

"If we got back." Jaz said, "I've been in that mountain before. Every one who enters it..." And she stopped.

"Yeah?" Luke said, "What if someone enters it_"

"Never mind." She shook her head, "We need to find that crystal right? Let's do this."

I knew she was hiding something, but I knew better than ask if I didn't want to lose my courage.

"Selena." I said, "You stay here. We don't want to... You know... Get separated there."

Selena nodded. "I know." She told me, "I wasn't planning on going anyway. Fred?"

Fred looked at her suddenly, like if he was somewhere far in his thoughts.
"Yeah right." He cleared his throat, "I'll be waiting for you here. You have until sunset."

"What?" I said surprised, "We have less than four hours!"

"Yeah. Well, it wasn't my idea you got trapped!"

As soon as he said that, I remembered Elsa. But if I wanted to go on this bloody quest, I had to stay strong and forget about her for the time being.
