I Make some Magic

When we finally arrived to that statue, I saw neither Kate or Luke.

"Do you think they got in trouble too?" I asked Selena.

She looked around maybe to make sure they weren't there, then said: "I don't know. But they didn't shout for help."

"Maybe they can't."

"Look," she stared at my hands, her eyes wide open, "it's time you do something useful. Use that magic of yours already!"

What was she talking about? I had no idea. For about 4 days I didn't believe in magic, and now she was asking me to be a wizard?

"Um... I..." I hesitated, then said: "I don't know how."

"I know you don't, that's why I want to teach right now."

She looked at me then took both my hands: "You have to concentrate on Kate or Luke. Then you close you eyes, and don't freak out if you feel you hands burning. And if luck was in our side, an image will appear in front of us and will show us where they are."

I couldn't believe what she was saying, but I said in amazement: "Really? I mean_"

But she stopped me putting her fingers on my lips and looked in my eyes, then said with a serious tone: "Juste do it."
She took away her hand and we stared at each others for some seconds.

"Ok fine." I said looking at my hands, "I'll try." I was about to ask her why she wouldn't do it instead, but then my brain worked, and I guessed that maybe every person has some special talents in magic, like some wizard movie I'v watched.

I concentrated on Kate so hard I felt my brane exploding. Then I felt my hands burning, just like Selena told me. I didn't have courage to open my eyes, when she shook my shoulder: "Jace!"
I opened my eyes, "You did it!"

I followed her gaze to see a cloud of mist turning in its place, then it transformed into like a TV screen and I saw Kate!
She was kissing Luke! And great, Selena was watching her ex-boyfriend kissing her new sister now.

I didn't know what to say, I saw tears in Selena's eyes. She was still looking at Kate and Luke, so without thinking, I hugged her. I was surprised she didn't pull away, instead, she cried at my chest. I thought about Elsa, when I hugged her before I kissed her and left her house. Then I looked at Selena, who was crying now, her head in my chest. I didn't want to pull away, I wanted to comfort her for what my sister and Luke have done, so I whispered: "Hey, it's okay. You know? I left someone I loved in New York so I could come with you, my new family."

She stopped crying for a moment, then, still hugging her, she looked at me with her honey eyes but didn't say anything, so I continued: "Your eyes are beautiful."

She smiled a little: "You think?"

"Yeah, they really are!" And I wasn't saying that because she was crying.

"Luke never told me that. It's weird you did!"
I wiped her tears, then took my right hand and played with her hair.
"What are you doing?" She asked.

"I'm taking care of..." I wanted to say sister, but for a second I felt she was more than a sister to me.

"Of...?" She asked.

"Of my adventure partner."

"Oh... You're a coward Jace Ford." She said leaning closer.

"Why?" I murmured, leaning as well.

"Because_"

"Hey you two!" Someone yelled behind me. Selena's cheeks turned red. I looked back and saw Luke and Kate.
I glared at him.

"What?" Luke asked.

I looked at Selena who was looking at the ground, maybe so Luke couldn't notice she was crying.

"Where were you?" I shouted.

"Hey buddy, don't shout like that!" Luke said, "The question is 'Where were you?'"

"What do you mean?"

"We came here but didn't find you, so we wasted some time_"

"Kissing?" I said angry.

"How did you_"

"Yeah, I think I'm the wizard of TV screens." 

I looked at Kate who had her hands over her mouth, in time Luke was shocked in his place. He looked at Selena then marched toward her but I stopped him: "Give her some space."

But Luke didn't stop and pushed me to the ground. Selena let out a cry: "Luke what have you_"

"I did what's right. He shouldn't have hugged you while I'm around."

"Why? Who are you to_"

"When I'm talking, you shut your mouth."

Did he just say that to Selena?
I got to my feet and punched him in the stomach. He fell to the ground. I glared at Kate so she wouldn't try to help him. Then I took Selena's hand and together, we headed to a restaurant which was nearby, leaving Luke at the ground, and Kate in her place...
