A week later...

Veer stepped into the house after a long day, loosening his tie slightly as he walked in. The soft glow of the television lit up the living room.
Sanjana was curled up on the sofa, watching something absentmindedly.

The moment she noticed him, her face brightened.

"Welcome home," she said warmly, getting up and walking to him. She leaned in and placed a gentle kiss on his cheek.

Veer's tired expression softened instantly.

"How was your day?" he asked, his hand resting lightly on her arm.

"Not bad..." she replied with a small smile.

Veer nodded, but there was something on his mind.

"Sanjana..." he began, his tone shifting slightly, "I have to go for a business trip to London."

Her smile faded just a little.

"Oh..." she said, then quickly added, "Can I come with you?"

Veer looked at her for a moment before answering.

"I would have taken you," he said honestly, "but I won't be free there. I'll be busy the whole time... it's a tight schedule."

Sanjana held his gaze.

For a second, it felt like she was trying to read something beyond his words. Then she smiled again-soft, understanding.

"Okay..."

A brief silence followed.

"How many days?" she asked.

"A week... or two, maybe," Veer replied. This time, she nodded quietly.

"Alright."

The next morning, soft rays of sunlight filtered through the curtains and fell across the empty side of the bed.

Sanjana stirred awake slowly.

Out of habit, her hand moved across the mattress, searching for Veer.

Nothing.

The sheets beside her were cold.

She blinked and sat up.

"Veer ji?" she called softly.
