"Veer ji..."
He turned, his gaze still guarded.
"I am not talking about this... I am talking about the mistake I did."
Veer's eyes sharpened, a flicker of pain crossing his features.
"Not even in my life."
Sanjana's heart sank, but she knew she...
*He carried fears she would never know, and love she would never doubt.*

Flashback — Last Night
After the call ended, Veer stood still for a long moment, the phone still in his hand, the echo of that cold voice ringing in his ears.
He walked out of the bedroom, each step slow but heavy with thought.
The mansion felt different at night — the silence was thicker, almost pressing against him. Shadows stretched across the walls, following him like silent watchers.
Reaching the living room, Veer lowered himself onto the sofa.
He leaned back, letting his head rest against the backrest, eyes closing as he exhaled a long, controlled breath.
For once, he didn’t feel like the powerful Veer Singh Rana whom everyone feared.
He felt… tired.
The weight of the threat lingered in his mind.
The presence of Sanjana, Nishant, and Chavi in the house added a new layer of responsibility — and danger he could not afford.
His fingers tapped restlessly on his knee.
He wanted to storm out, confront the problem head-on. But he knew the caller was provoking him.
“Not now,” he told himself.
“Not when they’re here.”
Veer opened his eyes again, staring at the patterns of light and shadow on the ceiling.
The house was peaceful. Too peaceful.
And he knew peace never lasted long for men like him.
Veer opened his eyes slowly and sat up, the calm of the living room doing nothing to quiet the storm inside his head. The caller’s words replayed again and again, sharp and deliberate.
He picked up his phone and dialed a number he rarely used.
“Aarav,” he said the moment the call connected, his voice low. “Wake the team. Quietly.”
Within minutes, the mansion stirred—not visibly, not loudly—but efficiently. Trusted men moved in shadows. Laptops were opened in the study. Screens lit up with maps, feeds, and encrypted messages.
Veer stood near the glass wall of the study, hands clasped behind his back as updates came in one after another.
