This strange little world

Never fear being alone,
or being pushed to the side.
Sometimes the quietest room
is where you finally meet yourself.

Your job was never
to fit perfectly into somebody else's life,
or even to squeeze yourself
into the version of your own life
you thought you were supposed to become.

Your job is simpler.

Be genuine.
Be honest.
Be kind when the world gives you
every reason not to be.
Stay strange.
Stay curious.
Stay beautifully, unapologetically you.

Everyone seems so focused on ego,
on winning,
on being right,
on looking like they have it all figured out.

But what is the point
of winning a game
you never wanted to play?

This world is strange.
It hands us rules we never agreed to
and expectations we never asked for,
then wonders why we sometimes
feel lost inside them.

So maybe we stop.

Maybe we breathe.

Maybe we remember
that being different isn't a flaw,
and standing alone doesn't mean
you have been forgotten.

There is nothing wrong
with walking a different road
when the road everyone else chose
leads somewhere you don't want to go.

Be kinder than necessary.
Be honest when it's difficult.
Laugh when you're supposed to be serious.
Cry when your heart needs to.
Love without keeping score.

And if the world tells you
that you don't belong,

perhaps that's your reminder
that you were never meant
to belong everywhere.

You were meant to belong
to yourself first.

The world may be strange,
but we don't have to inherit
all of its rules.

We can write our own.

And maybe that's where
the real freedom begins.
