They say the most cowardly thing a man can do
is awaken a heart
he never intends to love.
I've learned there is truth in that.
I've watched friends move
from one relationship to another,
collecting memories,
names,
goodbyes,
and beginnings.
And somehow,
I've only had a few.
But perhaps that was never the point.
Because love was never meant
to be measured in numbers.
It is measured in intention.
In honesty.
In the courage to stay genuine
when the easier choice
would be to walk away.
I have known separation.
I have known silence.
I have sat with an aching heart
and listened to the parts of myself
I had spent years avoiding.

I awakened.
Not just spiritually,

I learned that sometimes
the mind can build a thousand arguments

I learned the meaning
behind those words:

I learned that patience

It is continuing to live,

while trusting that what belongs in your life

I stopped asking
how long love should take.
I stopped trying to force
what cannot be forced.
And I began to understand
that some people
are not meant to be rushed.
Some stories need distance.
Some hearts need healing.
Some chapters need silence
before the next one can begin.
So if there is one thing
all of this has taught me,
it is this:
Love purely.
