Time

Someone once asked,
"What is the most valuable thing in life?"

"Time," everyone answered.

Time is precious.
We never have enough of it.
It slips through our fingers,
quietly reminding us
that none of us gets to keep it forever.

And somehow,
I find that answer funny.

Because what happens
when you stop chasing the clock?

When you give yourself permission
to slow down,
to breathe,
to look around
and realize how fortunate you are
just to be here.

You get to laugh.
You get to cry.
You get to love.
You get to lose.
You get to remember the people
who have gone ahead of us
and carried their stories
somewhere beyond the stars.

You get to sit beneath the moon
and realize that this moment
will never happen again.

And yet,
for one beautiful second,
it feels like it lasts forever.

Maybe time was never meant
to be measured by clocks.

Maybe it is measured
in belly laughs,
in quiet tears,
in memories we refuse to let fade,
in hands we held,
in people we loved,
and in the moments
when we finally stopped worrying
about how much time we had left.

We spend our lives saying
time is running out.

But perhaps,
when we finally learn to live inside it,
we discover something extraordinary.

Time was never running away from us.

It was waiting for us
to notice it.

And in that moment,
for just a little while,
time becomes infinite.
