When we finally got to my place I was totally drenched. I never thought it would rain today. But at the same time I never looked on the Weather Network either. So it was quite possible that it was calling for rain and I never knew. I saw blue sky's this morning no dark clouds in sight while I was getting ready for work. I never brought my rain jacket with me for that reason. But Michael did and we stopped back off at the office to get it. Even if everyone was already soaked and it would do no use. When we got to my front porch there was a box on my front porch that was just a bit wet from the rain. What's that? I don't know. But we will find out in a minute. When I opened the cardboard box a teacup Chihuahua looked up at me and blinked. Oh my goodness you are just adorable. I picked up the soaking wet puppy and there was a note in a bag at the bottom of the box. I got the letter and read it out loud so everyone could hear it. My name is Tiny I am a six month old purebred teacup Chihuahua. My previous owners couldn't take care of me. Please love me and act like I am your baby. I love being pampered. Oh my goodness your owners left you Tiny at my door step. They just knew I loved animals. Didn't they? Even if the dog could not answer back I kept on talking to the very tiny dog that I was cradling in my arms. I will pamper you like a baby don't you worry little one. I unlocked my door and my dog Pappy was jumping up and down barking so happy to see me and my company. My cat was sitting on the bench in the entranceway crying waiting to be held. May darling don't worry I am home. Soaked  but home. I will show you guys the living room and I am going to change into some sleep pants and a tank. Why Daisy? You look good like that. Michael's comment made me blush and look to the ground. But after I got over the nervousness from the comment he made. I talked back to him. I have such a weird boss. Get used to it Daisy. I will don't you worry. Michael started talking to his mom about the last patient that was in a crisis when he left and what his mother did to help the troubled woman out. So I piped up in the middle of their conversation and said I would be right back. Before Michael could speak up any more about I never needed to change . Despite that I was soaked and in a white t-shirt that was probably almost see through from the rain. I left before anyone could reply. I opened the first drawer of my dresser when I got into my room and I pulled whatever the first thing I spotted that was somewhat presentable when you have company over out. I looked in my mirror after putting an old tank on with a bleach stain on it and a hole in it and a pair of pajamas pants on. I looked horrible and I never had time to do anything about it. My hair was soaked and it was a knotted mess. But it was all my fault for just quickly running the hair brush through it a few times before I left the house and not doing anything with it to maintain the non-bed head look through out the day. It would take too long and it would be rude for me to blow dry it out now. As I had company down stairs waiting for dinner to be made. My makeup was streaked down my face from crying so much and from the rain. So I had no choice but to take it off. Even if I ran out of makeup that day and I could not afford to get more till next month. I grabbed a hair elastic and quickly put it up when I looked at my self after I was totally done. I looked like a younger version of my mother. This would have been an outfit she would use on one of her cleaning days and it was for me too. I couldn't focus on looking the greatest for company right that second as they were already here. So I dragged my feet back down stairs sadly. I put a smile on my face though as I spoke loud enough for Michael and his mom to hear me as I walked into the kitchen. Let's see what we have for dinner. Tiny I put in my kitchen before going to my bedroom to change. I was going to bring him to the vet tomorrow after work if I could afford it that is. As I looked through my cupboards looking for something that was suitable to serve to company on such short notice. I heard footsteps coming down the hallway. When they stopped I turned around having a sure suspicion someone was watching me look for some sort of dinner option for three people. Sure enough Michael's frame was standing in my doorway of the kitchen. He was taller then before. But his shyness was still there a bit. Thinking back to all those years ago driving past his house in high school wishing, hoping that I would spot him once in a while to know he was doing okay. But I always missed him. We kept starring at each other our eyes locked on one another till I spoke up. What do you need Michael I am trying to get dinner ready for three people. Oh I.... He was still so cute when he was shy and I wondered about if he still had laughing attacks when he was nervous. Yes Michael what do you need? I think your Pomeranian needs to go outside Daisy. Okay. Right then my dog came into the room. Pappy if you need to go you know what you need to do. I knew Michael was looking at me suspiciously. But I never cared. I picked up my dog and walked away and got my dog ready for going outside. Can one of you take him outside please? Um I am not taking him outside. Why not Michael? Why do you dress that dog up like that? If I may I ask. Oh because his fur is a nightmare if it get's wet. Okay then. I will walk your dog Daisy. My son can stay here with you and with his beast of a dog. Um are you sure? Yes I am. Okay. When that door closed and Michael and I were alone it was just silence. More and more I never thought of him as my boss. But a friend. Come to the kitchen with me so we can talk Michael. Sure Daisy. What do you have to cook Daisy? Who knows Michael. I might need you to run to the pizzeria and get a pizza for dinner. If I don't have anything in these cupboards that classifies as dinner. Oh okay. It is my lucky day I have pasta here just in this sort of a case when a friend comes by un expectedly. Your other friends? You mean you classify me as a friend? Did I let that slip out? Yeah kind of. My mistake. I kind of was thinking that Michael. But never wanted to say it out loud. Hey I know what you mean. Grade seven you hold the door for me and then instead of me saying thank you Daisy you never had to do that for me. It turned out that I said you were an angel. Yeah I don't know why you would even think that. But oh well. Right then my phone rang and I told Michael to watch the pasta that I started just a few minutes ago. I looked at the caller id and it was Zoey. I never heard from her in a while as I was busy with work. So I knew she probably was calling to make sure I was still alive and well. Also I knew that she would want all the news on Michael's life that I found out. Hey Zoey um just can you hold on a second. Hearing Zoey upset was a rare thing for me. So I knew she needed me to talk to her and try to comfort her. Depending on how she was I might ask her for dinner too. So I could get her out of her house and her mind on something else. I looked at Michael that was stirring the pot of pasta. Michael I will be back. I will be just on the porch. Okay Daisy. I walked outside and sat down on my covered porch. What's up Zoey? Okay then. You could come over for dinner. But Michel and his mom are here. Okay see you soon. Yeah we will talk when you get here. Bye. I looked to the sidewalk and sighed. What am I going to do with Zoey? I never even knew Michael stepped onto the porch till he spoke. Hey who was that? Zoey. What's wrong Daisy? You look defeated. I smiled if my boss even knew how much I loved him. He was extremely caring to me his employee. His receptionist. He knew just by my face something was wrong. To me that was so sweet of him. Michael help me please. Um let me guess you need my help with Zoey and because I am a counsellor you are saying for me to help her. Yeah. What's the problem? She just called me in tears saying that she couldn't believe he could do that to her. Don't know exactly what she meant about that though. But she wouldn't tell me on the phone she says she will explain it all when she gets to my place. I have no idea either. Um you two the pot is boiling over. Hu oh thanks for telling us. You two are in a deep conversation I can tell. I never even noticed his mother came back till she spoke to us. Michael and I both said the same thing t the same time. No we weren't. Michael and I both blushed and he started to laugh. I started to because I knew it was his nervous laugh. Are we going to talk son or are you two just going to keep on talking? Yeah we will talk mom. I just need to help Daisy with something before we can talk. Okay. Michael lets go inside. Sure. I just got inside when there was a knock on my door. Michael was already in the living room and I headed there to get him. He looked to me. What Daisy? Michael please come with me I need your help. Yeah I think you might. When I opened my door Zoey was crying and you could tell she never cared about anything else right now but what was on her mind. Zoey you want to come inside. No I want to talk to you out here with out any guy listening in because they are all jerks in my eyes right now. I knew whatever happened really hurt Zoey as Zoey never was this upset before. Especially in front of me. Um I think I am not wanted Daisy. So I am going to finish cooking I guess. Michael come help me please. Please Michael I need your help you have experience in this type of thing I don't. If you know what's better for you then you won't even dare try to talk to me Michael. I definitely knew Zoey was upset as normally she would not say that to Michael at all. Um yeah I am going to help out with dinner because I am not welcome. I sighed okay Michael. But I needed some help with Zoey I knew it. But she never wanted Michael to try to help her. I closed the front door and looked at my best friend. What happened Zoey? That jerk called my boyfriend broke up with me Daisy. But that is not the worst part he cheated on me. It made me sad that Zoey's ex boyfriend did that to her. As I knew she loved him with her entire heart. Zoey slipped down onto the front porch and put her head in her hands. I sat down beside her and spoke. Not knowing what exactly to say to comfort my heart broken friend. Zoey guys come and go but friends stay beside each other forever. But what friend would stay by my side Daisy if they knew that their friend was going to be a single mother? What? Yeah. How far along are you Zoey? Two months tomorrow. Daisy who is going to love me with a child? Men want a women with no kids. I am never going to find love again. Right then Ben walked up my driveway. Hey Daisy my friend Michael texted me said you might need some help and I would be the perfect person to help out with the situation at hand. Ben if you could calm down Zoey that would be very nice for you to do. But probably she will yell and scream at you. Hey I am used to screaming in my field of work. I get couples in all the time screaming at each other or women that say guys are jerks. Some times I have to dodge things those women throw at me. Really? Yeah haft of Michael clients I referred to him because he is better with cases that are let's say the problem ones. Oh so that's why the most common question I heard all day today was do you have any weapons on you? Yeah. Lovely. I need to get used to that then. Yes you do. Zoey can Ben talk to you? NO! Daisy go inside I will deal with this. Thank you Ben I think dinner is almost ready also. So if you want you can have some pasta. Okay thanks Daisy. I hated walking away from my best friend. But I saw Ben sit down beside her. Even if Ben was a prick in elementary school he might of mellowed out a lot since then. I never knew for sure. But I prayed this was a good idea that Michael had.
