Back On Track

Nicki POV

After what happened yesterday I've been stressed out,I had Zahir all to myself last night and today so as soon as he goes to bed I'll take him home. I texted Ci last night and she said she needed to think,I don't understand why I can't get away from Alan. Every time me and Ciara are almost on the right path he messes it up. I put him in his car seat and get in the car. I go to the ice cream polar and order a 2 scoop cup of vanilla ice cream and sit in a booth.

"Hi Nicki!" I heard a voice say

I look up to see a group of what seems to be teen girls and a boy.

"Hi" I smile

"Sorry to interrupt but we're huge fans,can we take a picture?" The boy asks

"Of course" I say

I stand up with Zahir and I take the picture with them.

"Thank you" They say

"No problem" I say

I sit back down and feed Zahir his ice cream,I only give him half a scoop and I eat the rest. Ci would be so pissed if I brought him back to her all hyper. We leave the polar and I decide to drive around for a while,his bedtime is approaching and the night air it's the motion of the car is good for putting people to sleep. Soon he's fast asleep and I make my way to Ciara's house,hopefully she'll let me talk to her real quick. I get there and knock on the door,for some reason my nerves were bad. She opens the door and I walk in with a sleeping Zahir,I take him to his room and lay him in his crib. I go in her room and sit next to her.

"Can we talk?" I ask

"Yea" She says

"The messages from yesterday,um,I know what it said but it's not like I was willing to do it" I say

"What do you mean?" She asks

"He kissed me,I was in the mall with Jhené and when we were walking to the car we ran into him,he started rambling about how I need to get over you and he'll gladly step in,when Jhené was getting in the car he kissed me then walked away" I say

"The next time he texts or calls you don't answer it,I don't care if he's harassing you,delete the messages and if he sends one more text block his number" She says

"Did you change your mind about whatever deduction you had yesterday?" I ask

"Depends on the answer you give me for the question I asked" She says

"Ok" I say

"I really miss you,I know you're tired of hearing me say sorry but I am,I would never want to hurt you,I-" I stop talking and sigh

Why am I having trouble telling her now?

"I don't wanna just throw this away,you mean too much to me,everything that we built means a lot to me,we can start over if you want,if you wanna renew our vows we can,it's whatever you wanna do,you're so incredible,I don't wanna mess anything up anymore,I don't break anymore hearts or cause tears,I'm gonna be a better person for you and show you that,we'll talk all night if you want to,no one can make me feel the way you do,I don't wanna ever lose you,I love you with everything in me,it was an honest mistake and I regretted it as soon as it was over" I say

"Then why did you do it again?" She asks

"I don't know,maybe cause I found him attractive" I say

After a few moments of silence she stares at me Intensively.

"Well yesterday I was gonna tell you my decision,and I was gonna give us another chance" She says

"Is that still the case?" I ask as my heart races

"Yes" She says

"One more mess up and I'm done" She says

"That's fair" I smile

She smiles and I straddle her,I place both my hands on the side of her face and kiss her deeply. Damn I missed her and her soft body,especially her lips. Everything about her made my body weak and my heart melt. I push her back on the bed and slowly start to grind on her while sliding my hands up her shirt. I reach the bottom of her bra and start to slide my hands under the material and she grabs my hands stopping me.

"Not while Zahir is here" She chuckles

"When?" I ask

"When Nay comes to get him tomorrow" She says

"Alright" I say as I lay on my side

I run my fingers through her hair while staring into her eyes. I'm glad that we're back on the right track and nothing is gonna change that. I remember how she always liked when I sing to her and I had the sudden feeling to sing one of her favorite Keyshia Cole songs,why not be nice and genuine after what happened,she looked tired anyway and it was a slow song. I'm not gonna start from the beginning tho,this song lowkey long.

I run my finger along her lips and lean in to kiss her one more time. I wrap my arms around her and start to doze off myself with a smile on my face. Thank God cause I really thought we were about to be done.
