Ecie pulled up outside her best friend, Joey Moore-Handler's house, and parked her Lexus RX 450h SE-L Premier. She checked her reflection in the front mirror and wiped her face of any tears. She looked at her face one more time then grabbed her large quilted tobacco hobo Burberry bag then climbed down from her car.
Ecie walked up to the front door in a pair of navy blue Newlyn Jack Wills sweat shorts, a T by Alexander Wang forest green classic long sleeved tee and a pair of navy blue Toms. She rang the doorbell and waited for the door to open.
'Ecie, dear. How are you?'
'I'm good thank you, Mrs. Moore. Is Joey in?'
'Yes,' she smiled. 'She's still upstairs packing up the last of her stuff.'
Ecie nodded. 'I can't believe that she's leaving so soon. I think she's one of the first people to go.'
'You're going to miss her aren't you?'
'Like you have no idea,' Ecie laughed. 'We've been together since pre-school. It's going to be so weird not seeing her every day.'
'Well you'll still keep in contact and things. Are you excited about LA?'
'Yeah,' Ecie replied. 'I don't think I'd be able to be so far away from my parents and from my home.'
'You'll have fun being in LA. I heard about your new apartment.'
'We totally love it,' Ecie smiled. 'It's nice and spacious so you can always come round whenever you want to chill.'
Mrs. Moore laughed.
'Hey E,' Joey smiled coming down the stairs. 'When did you get here?'
'A couple minutes ago,' Ecie replied. 'I was just talking to your mom.'
'Cool,' Joey nodded. 'We're going to go upstairs and finish packing mom. We'll see you later.'
They left the living room and went upstairs to Joey's bedroom.
'You look cute,' Joey said as they walked into her room.
'Thank you,' Ecie said sitting down on Joey's bed and placing her bag at her feet.
'How weird is all of this?' Joey said standing with her hands on her hips. 'I feel like this is totally crazy and out of this world.'
'I know,' Ecie nodded. 'I don't want you to go, it means that college is really real and is really happening.'
Joey laughed as she ran her hands through her long brown hair and sighed. 'I feel like I've been packing for years.'
'What kind of stuff are you taking with you?'
'I wanted to take my whole house,' Joey laughed. 'But I don't think I've got enough room.'
'Do you think you've got enough room for me in your bags?'
Joey laughed. 'I wish I did. This is so fricking scary.'
'What am I going to do if I totally freak out?' Ecie laughed. 'I'll have no one to talk to.'
'You can call me any time,' Joey replied. 'We've got to talk to each other at least once a day. I don't want you to forget me.'
'I could never forget you,' Ecie smiled. 'We've had such great times together.'
'I know,' Joey nodded. 'But I guess that we've got to move on in life and meet again.'
'Yeah,' Ecie agreed. 'At least we were able to go on holiday together for the last time in forever.'
