'Okay then Ecie,' Carole said sitting back in her seat and writing down some notes. 'You said that you cheated on Denis with his brother Ellis, then you cheated on Grayson with Denis and then when you were with Ellis you cheated on him with Langley.'

Ecie nodded.

'Do you want to tell me why you did all this?'

'I don't know,' Ecie replied. 'I suppose that when you list it all out like that, it does look pretty bad.'

'Just try and explain it to me,' Carole said looking at Ecie.

'Well, let's see,' Ecie replied thinking about it. 'I met Ellis on the beach and we became friends. He introduced me to Denis and then Denis and I began a relationship. They got me drunk so I slept with Ellis. I broke up with Denis and started dating Grayson; but then Denis came back into my life so I started seeing him again. Things ended with both of them then I started dating Ellis and Langley just sort of kept popping up, so I started seeing him as well.'

'Can you think of why you may have done this?' Carole asked. 'You just sort of jumped from guy to guy.'

'I guess I cheated so much because I knew I could,' Ecie replied scratching her jaw. 'They all just seemed to fit so well with each other and I felt like I didn't really like the guy I was properly dating.'

'So do you agree with what Ellis said to you?'

Ecie shook her head. 'Yeah I cheated, but that's no excuse to put a person in hospital for four months.'

'You were scared of Ellis?'

Ecie shook her head again. 'If I was scared of him then I would never have been with him.'

'So why did you cheat on him when you knew he'd go berserk?'

'Ellis gave me a different type of love than Langley,' Ecie replied. 'He was so harsh and violent. Langley was like my breath of fresh air. He was so tender and kind to me.'

'So why did you stay with Ellis if his love was so violent and harsh? Surely since you were not afraid of him, you would have left him.'

Ecie looked at Carole for a moment then down at her fingers.

'Do you mind being single?'

'No,' Ecie replied. 'I could be single for the rest of my life. It's like as soon as I get a boyfriend all these other guys start popping up in my life.'

Carole nodded and wrote something down.

'I think it could be an impulsive thing,' Ecie said.

'You need to think about why you cheat,' Carole said turning a page in her note book and writing something down. She tore out the page and handed it to Ecie. 'As I won't see you for a week, I want you to think about this. I want you to think about why you cheat; any reasons at all, just jot down all your ideas and we'll discuss them when you get back.'

Ecie nodded as she looked down on the scrap of paper. She folded it then put it into her bag.

'Have you seen Denis at all?'

'No,' Ecie replied. 'Not since last year.'

'You know that he got you from Ellis' apartment?'

'Yes,' Ecie nodded. 'I should probably see him.'

'Do you think you should or do you think that other people think you should?'

'I think that I should,' Ecie replied. 'I need to thank him for potentially saving my life. He needs to know that I'm grateful.'
