'Ahhhh....'
'Esme,' Taylor shot up in bed and looked to his side. He saw that Esme was sleeping peacefully smiling at him. Taylor sat up for a moment and listened.
'Pleeea...ahhh...'
'Esme,' Taylor said shaking her a little bit. 'Esme wake up.'
Esme roused slowly and looked at Taylor who looked worried. 'What is it? What's going on?'
'Listen,' Taylor said as Esme sat up. 'Can you hear that?'
'Ahhhh...'
'Oh my god,' Esme said pushing the sheets back and jumping out of bed. She pulled on the nearest tee she could find and raced out of her bedroom. She burst into Ecie's room and found her sister shaking and rolling about on her bed crazily. Her sister was screaming and crying hysterically.
Taylor came into the room behind Esme and stared at Ecie. 'We have to wake her up.'
'Yeah,' Esme nodded frantically looking around the room for an idea. 'Erm what do we do?'
'Go get some water from the bathroom,' Taylor said as he neared Ecie slowly. 'Hurry.'
Esme nodded and rushed to the bathroom to get some water. She returned seconds later with a cup and handed it to Taylor.
Taylor nudged Ecie a little and accidently pulled up the sleeve of the long sleeved Calvin Klein nightdress that she slept in.
'Esme,' Taylor said worried. 'Look at this.'
Esme came slowly and stared in disbelief at her sister's arm. 'Oh my god!' Esme was shaking.
Taylor sprinkled some water onto Ecie's face then splashed the whole cup of water over her.
Ecie shot up and screamed startled at Taylor and Esme.
'Are you okay?' Esme said.
'What are you guys doing here?' Ecie said.
'You were having a nightmare,' Taylor said looking at Ecie. 'We heard you screaming so we came in here.'
'There was no need to throw water on me,' Ecie said wiping her face. 'Look at what you've done. I need to change the sheets and everything.'
'Taylor,' Esme said. 'Go downstairs and make us some hot chocolate. I'll help Ecie clean up.'
Taylor left Ecie's bedroom and went downstairs to make some drinks.
'Ecie,' Esme said slowly. 'Your arm. What are those bruises on your arm?'
'They're nothing,' Ecie said stripping the bed quickly.
'How did you get them?' Esme asked.
'I don't know,' Ecie replied. 'I guess I just bumped into something.'
'You were never clumsy or careless,' Esme said looking at her sister. 'Why are you lying to me? Why won't you just tell me the truth?'
'What does it even matter?' Ecie said going to the airing cupboard and taking out some new sheets. 'In a few days they'll be gone and there'll be nothing to worry about.'
