'What's all this?' Taylor asked stepping into Esme's room. The floor was covered in red rose petals and scented candles lined the room.
'I wanted to do something for you,' Esme replied. 'Do you like it?'
'I love it,' Taylor laughed. 'You look...pretty.'
'Shut up,' Esme smiled as he sat on her bed. She kissed him on the lips then pulled off his sweater. 'Just stop talking.'
Taylor grinned as he kissed Esme.
Esme pushed Taylor down to the bed and climbed on top of him. She pulled down his jeans and pulled back the covers.
'What is all this for?' Taylor said. 'Did I do something?'
'I just wanted to give you a present,' Esme replied. 'I know that we haven't exactly been the most steady couple in the past couple of months, but I wanted you to know that I love you.'
'You should love me more often,' Taylor grinned. 'I could get used to this.'
Esme hit Taylor playfully. 'This is just a onetime thing, so don't go getting any ideas.'
Taylor kissed Esme. 'Well I love you anyway.'
Esme laughed. 'I know you do.'
'Oh right,' Taylor said laughing. 'Are we beginning to get cocky?'
Esme smiled at Taylor. 'I think that you're really lucky to have me in your life.'
'And why do you think that?'
'I just do,' Esme replied. 'You know that Paul asked Sara to move in with him when they go to college.'
'I didn't know that,' Taylor replied. 'Do you want to live with me or something?'
'No,' Esme replied. 'You smell and you leave these little trails behind you, everywhere you go.'
Taylor laughed and kissed Esme's nose. 'Well I got you something.'
'What is it?'
'I'll give it to you when we're done,' Taylor replied. 'I don't want to ruin the moment.'
'You just did,' Esme said looking into Taylor's eyes. 'You always have to ruin the moment.'
'I'm sorry,' Taylor smiled. He cleared his throat then kissed her on the lips. 'I think that you're very lucky to have me in your life.'
'Oh you,' Esme laughed hitting him. 'You little...'
Taylor laughed as he turned Esme over so that she was lying with her back on the bed. 'Most people would kill to have me in their lives.'
'Taylor,' Esme said just before he went in.
'What?'
'I know,' she laughed. 'I killed someone to get to you.'
They laughed.
'What the hell is this?' Taylor laughed as he reached down for his jeans. 'Is this a karma sutra book?'
'Oh yeah,' Esme nodded. 'I thought we could try some stuff out. I figured it'd be better than watching porn.'
'Oh right,' Taylor said putting the book on the bed. 'We can look through it later.'
'Okay,' Esme sat back. 'What are you doing?'
'I'm getting you your present,' Taylor replied digging into his jean pockets and pulling out a rectangle shaped wrapped gift. 'I got it this morning after you silenced me.'
'Really,' Esme said as Taylor threw his jeans to the floor then sat up. He gave her the present. 'So what is it?'
'Open it and find out,' Taylor replied.
Esme unwrapped and stared down at a pair of keys. 'Are these your apartment keys?'
'Yeah,' he nodded. 'I thought you might like them.'
Esme looked at Taylor and kissed him. 'Thank you. Thank you very much.'
'You don't have to move in or anything,' he said. 'It's just so that...well you know... it's so that you can come in and stuff whenever you like...you know.'
Esme nodded. 'I kind of figured that.'
'Right...well...' Taylor cleared his throat. 'Do you want to look at that book?'
'Taylor,' Esme smiled at him. 'It's a great present. I love it.'
'Yeah?'
'Yeah,' Esme nodded. 'More than I love you anyway.'
'I see,' Taylor laughed. 'Well then, let's see what can be done to change that. Open the book.'
