'What are you girlies up to?' Sofie asked poking her head around Esme's bedroom door.

'Nothing much,' Ecie replied. 'What do you have there?'

'Just something I've been writing,' Sofie replied coming into the room with a notepad. 'It's something for Eric.'

'Oh right,' Esme nodded. 'The first year anniversary is coming up. Are you nervous?'

'Just a bit,' Sofie laughed. 'But you know, it comes and it goes.'

'What do you have so far?' Ecie asked.

Sofie passed them the notepad.

'It's blank,' Ecie said holding it up. 'Are you planning on giving this to him?'

'No,' Sofie laughed taking the notepad back. 'I don't know what to write for him. He really means something, doesn't he?'

'I think so,' Esme nodded. 'He's a really nice guy. He's a really good guy.'

'I know,' Sofie sighed. 'He just makes me freak out about everything. I don't know how to explain it.'

'He loves you too,' Ecie smiled. 'I think you should marry him.'

Sofie laughed. 'Maybe on my deathbed.'

'Well that is an improvement from never,' Esme laughed. 'We're proud of you mom.'

'Thank you,' Sofie smiled. 'So guys enjoyed shopping with him?'

'Yeah,' Esme nodded. 'Although it was a little awkward.'

'Yeah,' Ecie agreed. 'Like when... oh you know.'

Esme nodded. 'That was so awkward. I thought we'd totally be busted then.'

'I know, right...'

'I'll just leave you girls then,' Sofie nodded. 'Are you going to stay here tonight or will you head over to Jonathon's?'

'I think we'll stay here,' Esme replied. 'But if you need any help or anything, we'd be more than happy.'

'Thank you girls,' Sofie smiled. 'I'll see you later.'

Sofie left the room and went down to her study.

'Mom looks really nervous,' Esme said. 'I hope she'll be okay.'

'She'll be fine,' Ecie replied. 'I think that once she finds her own voice, she'll have no trouble in writing that thing for Eric. She just doesn't know who she is yet.'

Esme laughed at her sister. 'You would have been amazing if you were studying philosophy in college.'

'I know, right,' Ecie laughed. 'I would have been so amazing.'

'This is so hopeless,' Sofie said throwing empty sheets of paper in the bin. 'I should just break up with him instead.'

'Why don't you just start off with something simple,' Esme tried. 'Like tell him how you feel about him.'

'I don't know how I feel about him,' Sofie said.

'Okay then,' Esme said. 'Why don't you try, I love you?'

Sofie pulled a face. 'I don't know how I feel about that word.'

'I'm really trying here mom,' Esme said a little frustrated. 'You've got like sixteen hours before your first anniversary. You've got to think.'

'I can do this,' Sofie nodded. 'I'm good at meeting deadlines.'

'Okay then,' Esme said. 'Tell me the first thing that comes into your head when I say Eric Curtain-Wright?'

Sofie pulled another face.

'How about Eric?'

Sofie smiled softly and tuck a strand of hair behind her ear. 'Kisses, warmth,' she pulled another face. 'Weasely?'

'Weasely?'

'Yeah,' Sofie said. 'He tries to weasel his way into everything I do.'

Esme looked at her mother. 'We should just stick to kisses and warmth. Weasely might be a little off-putting.'

'Mom is totally freaking out,' Esme sighed as she went to Starbucks with Taylor. 'It's like she doesn't understand how to be in love.'

'How would you be in love?'

'I don't know,' Esme shrugged. 'I guess that mom isn't really one to show her true feelings for someone.'

'Your mom is a writer,' Taylor said. 'That's her strongest asset. She should totally exploit it and use it to her advantage. You say she doesn't know how to be in love, well then give her a character that is and tell her to write.'

Esme looked at Taylor. 'Who are you?'

Taylor grinned. 'Well I am the best guy in the world. I deserve a little credit for it.'

Esme kissed Taylor on the lips. 'Are you working afterwards or do you want to come home with me and help my mom.'

'I'm still working,' Taylor said. 'But I can rush over afterwards and see if she still needs help.'

'I love you,' Esme kissed Taylor.

'That certainly makes a change,' Taylor grinned kissing Esme back. 'I would love me too if I were you.'

Esme hit Taylor. 'I can always take my love back.'

'I love you too,' Taylor kissed Esme.
