'I want to stay in tonight,' Joey said lounging in the pool at their villa. 'Do you think we could ask a chef to come and make us dinner?'
'Why don't you want to go out to dinner?' Owen asked.
'We've been out every night since we got here and after last night, I don't want to see that again,' Joey replied. She looked over at her friend who was lying with a pair of dark Balmain d-frame sunglasses over her eyes. 'Hey E, you okay?'
'Yeah,' Ecie replied getting up. 'I think I'm going to lie inside for a bit.'
Ecie got down from her lounger then climbed out of the pool and went inside.
'There's no way she's okay,' Owen said.
'Good work Sherlock,' Joey rolled her eyes.
Ecie went into the room she was sharing with Verde and went into the en suite bathroom. Filling up the bath with cold water, she climbed in and allowed herself to sink to the bottom. She closed her eyes and breathed slowly, numbed.
After a few minutes, Ecie rushed to the top and climbed out of the bath dripping wet. She went back into the bedroom and sat down on the bed. She stared out of the window for a few moments before getting up again and closing the curtains. She wanted to sit in the dark alone and quiet. Sitting back down on the bed, Ecie sighed heavily then pulled the sheets back and climbed into bed still wet. She pulled the sheets over her head and started crying.
