'This weekend was so much fun,' Esme said as she unpacked her bag. 'I really wish we could do it again.'
'It was fun,' Ecie replied. 'I'm just happy to be home.'
'Did you have any fun sitting around all weekend?'
'I had loads of fun,' Ecie joked. 'You'd be surprised just how underrated watching things can really be.'
Esme laughed. 'I just hope you've healed enough in time for Cabo and Palm Springs. Senior year was supposed to be really fun, but I feel that the only fun you've been having is hurting yourself.'
'Didn't I tell you?' Ecie laughed. 'That's how I roll these days.'
'You suck.' Esme laughed.
'So what do we do now that we're back to reality?' Ecie asked.
'We spy on Eric,' Esme replied. 'We have to see if he's truly the man of mom's dreams.'
'What happens if he is nothing like we expected?'
'I don't know,' Esme shrugged. 'I guess we get to know him and if he still sucks then we'll have to work on breaking them up.'
'I feel as though you've stolen me,' Ecie laughed. 'That's something I would say.'
Esme laughed. 'I suppose it's a good thing we're twins then.'
Ecie grinned. 'Right.'
Sofie knocked on the door and smiled at her daughters. 'How was it?'
'It was so much fun,' Esme replied. 'We went kayaking, and sat round a fire then we went diving and snorkeling and played volleyball on the beach. The island was just so fantastic.'
'Well I'm glad you girls had fun,' Sofie replied. 'Do you think you'll be up and ready for school tomorrow morning?'
'Oh yeah,' Ecie replied. 'It's only nine o'clock and I'm already so exhausted.'
'Well then I'll leave you girls and see you in the morning.'
Sofie left the room and Esme and Ecie returned to their conversation.
'When do you suppose we'll have to meet him officially?'
'Soon,' Ecie replied. 'Did you see the smile on mom's face? She definitely added Eric to her "long" list of lovers.'
Esme laughed.
