Behind Her Mask

"Life is like a Masquerade. Everywhere you look are people hiding behind masks."

She took her mask lying on top of the wooden table and wore it. She looks irresistible wearing her red and black dress with a slit on the right part showing off some skin. She slowly walked down the stairs with confidence. When the crowd saw her, everybody stopped everything they were doing and couldn't help but stare.

"Who is she? Maybe she's Harriet." One said.

"She's...gorgeous!" The other one said.

The crowd was just speechless and dropped their jaws. It seems like a Goddess arrived at the party. She has the spotlight and the guys want her.

That's right, want me. You'll never guess who am I. Angel thought and smirked.

She walked across familiar faces as she rambles at the party. Everyone was clueless about who she is.

"Sino ba siya? Parang di ko siya naalala sa batch natin." The girl said as she walked pass Angel.

Angel just continued to roam around until she bumped into someone.

"I'm sorry!" Prince said before he gave Angel's purse that fell.

Until now? Sorry parin ang parati mong sasabihin saken? For Pete's sake! She thought as she took the purse and smiled.

"I'm Prince, Prince Constiago." He said while offering his hand.

"Oh, Mr. Constia? Nice to meet you. You look nice." She said and shook his hand.

Napakunot ang noo ni Prince. May bigla siyang naalala sa mga katagang iyon.

"Mr. Constia? I'm sorry but, who are you?" He said as he stares at her eyes with confusion.

Bahagyang napatawa si Angel bago siya nagsalita.

"Oh Mr. Constia, how I admire you!" She said before she left him still confused.

Prince remembers those words. Lagi niya yung sinasabi kay Angel kaya mas lalo siyang nagtaka at mas naging curious sa pagkatao ng babaeng yun.

"Wait!" Prince said and took her hand.

She paused for a moment and looked at him. She smiled and slowly pulled her hand to free from his grasp.

"Who are you?" Prince asked and his eyebrows met.

"See you around, Prince." She said and gave a loopsided smile before she left him.

Angel walked and stopped when someone tapped her back.

"Hey! You look gorgeous! I'm Jake by the way! And you are?" He said while offering his hand.

"You can see me?" Angel said.

"Why would I miss this beautiful scenery? And why would you even say that?" Jake confusingly remarked.

"Well, I thought I was invis
ible." She said and smirked before leaving him confused.

As she continues roaming around, she heard 3 familiar laughs. Nakangiti siyang lumapit kina Harriet, Fiona at Shiena na umiinom ng cocktail.

"You girls looks stunning." Angel said and displayed a smirk.

"Oh yes we are. Do we know you? Hmm.." Harriet asked and glanced Angel from head to toe and arched her brow.

This can't be! I thought I was the hottest girl in this party! Harriet thought.

"Are you enjoying the party?" Angel remarked.

"Ofcourse! I love the organizer slash sponsor! I wanna meet him or her cause I know he or she is a bigshot! Do you know who's responsible for this event?" Harriet said.

"Yeah! We're curious too!" Fiona and Shiena chorused.

"Makikilala niyo rin ako mamaya." Bulong ni Angel sa sarili.

"I'm sorry, come again?" Harriet remarked.

"You'll see him or her later. Will you guys excuse me?"

"Wait. Who are you?" Fiona said but it was too late. Angel already left leaving a mysterious aura.

Angel sat at the table beside the stage and took a glass of champagne. She seductively caressed the glass on her lips before she gulp her drink. Napalunok nalang ng laway ang mga lalaking kanina pa nakatitig sakanya ng palihim sa kanyang ginawa.

"Hi again! It's me,Jake!" Jake said and sat beside Angel.

"Why are you here?"

"I forgot your name, what is it again?"

"I didn't give it to you. Nice try." She said before she stood up and took her purse.

"Smart girl ey? Wait! Don't go!" He protested but he heared the emcee talk so he looked back.

"Good evening ladies and gentlemen!" The emcee said.

"It's going to start--Where is she?" Sabi ni Jake habang hinahanap si Angel na agad nang nakaalis.

"She's unbelievable! Haha!" Jake said and grinned while shaking his head.

Napakunot nalang ang noo niya habang iniisip parin kung sino ang misteryosong babaeng yun.

The crowd stood still as the emcee started talking.

"Are we having fun tonight?" The emcee said.

"Yes!" The crowd chorused.

"Good! Let's formally start this Reunion Masquerade Party and together, let us all remove our masks in 3,2,1!" The emcee said on the mic before they all remove their masks.

Everyone was surprised on how their former batchmates changed within the last 5 years. Some were laughing and some were reminiscing their past, but most of them were shocked and surprised.

"Okay! Now, do you all want to know who is our mystery organizer?" The emcee said and the crowd nodded and cheered.

"She will introduce herself to you." The emcee said and signaled Angel to come up to the stage.

Angel slowly walked and took the mic. The crowd, especially the guys, went wild and cheered for her. She only displayed a smirk.

"Siya? Siya ang organizer?! Oh my God! She talked to me! Hahaha!" Harriet proudly announced.

"She's amazing! Hahaha!" Shiena said.

It's my time. Angel thought as she slowly placed her hand on her mask. Prince is seriously and patiently waiting to see the face behind her mask. Sino kaba talaga at bakit ang lakas ng kutob ko saiyo? He thought. The crowd doubled their cheer as she was slowly removing her mask.

When the mask was totally off her face, the crowd gaped in surprise as they saw the Angel dela Bueva smirking.

"Surprise! Did you miss me?" She said over the mic and displayed a grin.

Everyone was shocked as if she was a dead girl brought to life. Everyone couldn't help but stare  behind the mask of the innocent seductress, Angel dela Bueva.
